I think me and a few friends were probably the youngest around 18-19 but not a 16 year old.

Seriously, isn't a V6 mustang in the teens? Be realistic.

 

Makes sense to me. Curious enthusiasts are clicking cars that they can afford (6. Saturn Sky), and cars that they cannot (7. Porsche 911).

 

Most 350z' s are v6's and automatics so what's your point

 

I agree with the guys on here....Im in awe of the fact they list the Mustang as a SPORTS car. Its a straight line muscle car. If you can fit four adults in your car its NOT a sports car.

 

I love it. They have the mustang at number 1 and mention that "For power-hungry enthusiasts, opt for the 500-horsepower Shelby GT500." ok fine, But how is the 2nd to last car on the list the same damn car?!?!?!?! And the best one number 6 and number 10 are THE SAME CAR

Are you on crack? Go cruise by your local HS parking lot if school is already back in session and I bet you don't see 1 Z, unless it is in the teachers parking area owned by a 40 y/o female teacher. (I didn't look to see where you live so you could live in a huge city for all I know) As for the HS girls with auto V6's stangs that is DEFINITELY true.

 

its a popularity list.not a true sports car list. in popularity, the mustang has been winning since the 60's,i bet more mustangs are sold than any other sports car. in a true sports car list,i think the only ones on their would be the 911 and mabye the corvette

Chicks drive any cheap version of a sports car in highschool. I was in highschool 6 years ago and I couldnt count how many girls had v6 mustangs/camaros and also eclipses/tiburons (not to say these are real sports cars but to the avg Joe they fit the bill). The only chicks I ever see driving Zs are older trophies. However from my experience at the all ages tuner nights in dfw the highschoolers now run WRXs (not sti), Civic SI (some have FI), RSX type S (lawl), and the l33t ones usually drive honda s2ks. Nowadays the only people I see driving mustang gts are flamers my age who do nothing but burnouts in front of dive bars before they go home alone =x.

All one has to do is read the miriad of new posts that crop up every now and then when people get their first Z. Face it, as more enter the used market, value drops making the cars more affordable to highschoolers.

I got to a HS with 1,100+ students, only one Z, 11 Mustangs, 7 of which are relatively new.

 

I agree with the high school girls and mustangs comment, which makes me crack up when my domestic fanboy mustang driver friends tell me I have a girl's car.

the Mustang GT is a nice car in my opinion, esp. the GT500. Its a real sports car.
But so is the Z.

 

I agree AsianDreamer. The only thing that gives American Muscle a bad rep is rednecks going......"yew onlay gawt a v6 in that lil thang huhuhuh". Other than that those cars might not have alot of good engineering behind them but they are definately fun for the money.

 

ya the v6 does ruin the mustang name, but the mustang is Ford's best seller i think so they arent complaining as long as kids and women keep buying them!

im sooooooo glad corvette doesnt come in v6 tho.
and im glad the Z doesnt come in a detuned smaller engine version. (G35 doesnt count)

 

I agree. Its no different then the fact that the Z shares the same powerplant as the Maxima, Altima, and even Quest. You do what you have to do to sell cars at a profit.
