Mustang FTMFL!!! ^and i have to agree with tienlo...theres no way a mustang would be in front of any of those cars in a REAL sports car comparison. thats why i dont trust internet ratings.

how can you create an article about the top 10 sports cars if your basing it on web hits...****, all the soccer moms in the world could start looking at minivans...raising the hit number...would they then throw that into the top 10 as well??

 

I will agree that the Mustang is heavy. However the 305Z is no light weight by any means.

inefficent engines? Its a 4.6L modular V8 is a fairly stout engine that produces 300HP and 320 lb-ft of torque. They designed the engine to produce more torque then horse power as the car is designed to be a Pony Car. I will say the fit n finish in the mustang is not as nice interior vs interior of the 350Z.

However as it seems to have slipped past many of those here, the list is as a result of internet searches, I am suprised that the Honda Civic SI did not make the list but i guess they excluded FWD cars thank god. While it is nice to see the 350Z obtain some recognition in making the top 3 there isn't quite much to be discussed.

 

BTW guys, the motor in the Mustang is detuned for 87 octane...

My roommate dyno'd 290whp with just an intake, exhaust, 93 octane, and simple tune.

Everyone knows how much $$$ it takes a Z to get there

i think alot of us have the "euro" view of sports car while MSN and some ppl have the "American" view of sports car.
Americans think 0-60 = sports car.
Euros think "nurburbung or whatever" = sports car.

right? I like the euro way.

 

honestly I think that is kind of embaracing that the Z is on there, I mean it's there with saturn, mustang, solstice, miata, and eclipse which are completly poser cars. That list is a complete joke and makes the Z look bad.

 

Not sure why people need MSN or some rag to tell them where their car ranks in popularity. Who cares.

The saturn, miata, and solstice are sports cars. 2 seater RWD cars not all sport cars are ment for speed but for handeling. "An automobile aerodynamically shaped one-passenger or two-passenger vehicle having a low center of gravity and steering and suspension designed for precise control at high speeds."


Lets be honest, you did not buy your Z because it was fast in a 1/4 mile did you?

 

Considering the Saturn outperforms the 350Z (holds a tougher SCCA classification), I would say you don't know what you are talking about.

Hell, even a Miata handles better than the Z.
