Default 2007 Manual VS 2007 Semi-Automatic (NEW POST revised)

Simple enough and cut and dry. I have to keep it like this because of rules that I will follow on here. I belive its the same I own a 2007 Semi-Automatic. figures on "paper" seem the same as a manual. I had a write up and driven both but I cannot state how I know because of the Rules on this form. I would like to know if the figures are true with FACTS instead of OPIONS. Maybe others have driven both 2007 models and seen write ups on figures from dealers or online since anything under 2007 internals with the 3.5 are diffrent paired with the old manuals and Semi-Automatics make them different cars from the 2006 and under 350Z's

If your going to guess thats not good enough I can do the same. thanks guys and Its good to have a place to call home.

please, dont call it "semi-automatic" it's an automatic no matter way you look at it, I dont even understand your post, you wasted money buying a automatic, should have purchased a M/T.

World's most confusing question, if it even is one.

Cut and dry? Facts vs. opinions? Learn to formulate a question and you might get a decent response. Although, it probably won't be the response you want to hear. Sorry.

Instead of the very unhelpful responces that you're getting, I hope this helps to answer your question:

What you have is not a Semi-automatic. You have an Automatic Transmission with a electronic overdrive. In no way what-so-ever is it even close to a Manual Transmission. In the "semi-automatic" you can control your gears, but not FULLY as you would in a M/T.

So that being said, although the specs might be the same between the M/T version and the A/T version of the 350z, you will not be able to squeeze out its real power since you are not in full control in an Automatic Transmission. You will not be able to push the car to its limits as you can with a Manual Transmission.

My opinion = M/T > A/T

Hope this helps.

why do people bash the auto 350z? it gets the same if not better 1/4 mile times than its manual counterpart (less driver error)? it's not like other autos out there, this one actually is not that bad at all. you guys be surprised how well the auto tranny is on the 350z. You can ask a fellow member here that goes by the name of "davidv", he'll give you the specs on the tranny.

Here's an honest opinion, not the opinion of some idiot who thinks he's the **** because he drives a stick. Performance wise, they're about the same in terms of acceleration and stuff. If you're pleased with an auto, then keep it, but if you're having doubts, maybe you might want to give stick a try. Either way the car is still loads of fun, and that "extra control" that all the stick fanboys rave about is really only useful if you go driving in the mountains or go to track days or something. Even for casual spirited driving an auto is more than good enough to have some fun.
