Default Lucky me.

So this last weekend my gf was down from sac. and she wanted to go out and run a few things around town and had the great idea for me to go get my front right tire fixed because it had a leak. I don't drive the car very often maybe once or twice ever couple weeks so it wasn't on me OMG I need to do list. Anyway I took it down to the local tirewharehouse and had a Nissan taxi service come pick us up to go get my gf's car, which was having the oil changed.

So we get her civic and come back to the tire place and the guy is like there is a pin hole in your rim we cant fix it at which point i have this face on I'm not even sure how something like that can happen but anyways it did. So he tells us to go back over to Nissan and have a talk with them.

So I'm thinking to myself well I did want some Nismo rims so maybe this isn't so bad, anyway we drive back over to Nissan and I'm talking to the parts guy at the counter. (F.Y.I. this is the same Nissan my gf used to do accounting for so she knows everyone) He gives me some crazy price like 25-2700 for all 4 no tires and this wasn't really something i wanted to spend on Nismo rims. Since there are better to be had for the same price or less. Point being is after he gave me that and i cringed at the price he goes oh well we have some take off 07's in the back of the warehouse from a car we just sold.

So of course I ask well are you selling them, and he gives me one of those well ge i dunno maybe if you can get the parts manager to say its okay ill sell them to you. at which point there is a smoke cloud in the shape of my gf next to me and a swinging door as she goes into the back of parts.

Long story short I walked out of Nissan with a brand new set of 07 rims with the tires for 600 bucks. plus the 40 for mounting and balance, not only that they took the rims over to where my Z was so they could get them put on.

Lucky me.

Nice.

Did you find out why the other rim had a hole?? Sounds like a defect.

I love dealers that give you a hard time. I learned a while ago with my dealer. I walked outside, dialed 1-800NISSAN1, explained the problem and waited. They came out appologizing, and I have never had trouble since! The guy on the phone even told me to call him back if the car hadn't been detailed before they gave it back to me. NISSAN HQ is the best.

I have no clue how it got a hole in it, the rim that has the hole has no visible damage on it no curb rash no bent lip no impact marks of any kind. I don't even understand hope a hole like that happens unless it was made that way. It's an 03 so I find it hard to believe that some one had the car 3 years before I got it and failed to noticed the tire goes down to about 18psi after sitting for 2 weeks. *shruggs* who knows.
