Bought a used Z, is it an Enthusiast or Touring? Specs
I bought a used Z yesterday. I paid $21,000 plus the taxes from a BMW store, it is an 03 with 34,000 miles. I know it is a bit steep, should have been $19,000-20,000?. Came with Pioneer head unit, new 10" speaker and amp, XM ready which I just ordered tonight. Now, onto the confusion.
I have black leather seats. It is a manual 6 speed. Curtain Airbags. Beleive it came stock with the better sound system, though the Sub is a Diamond so I don't know if it was added later. My question arose at Tire Discounters today. Started looking for rims and checked my rim/tire size. The tire clearly says 235/50WR17 which shows to be the standard 17" size with enthusiast. Is my car a touring and I got shafted on the rims? Or is it enthusiast? Or did they just use those rims when the car came out in 03 and have changed since on touring to larger ones? Thanks fellas

I'll check VDC in the morning, too tired to walk out. And yes, I assumed by the leather it meant touring.
Oh, btw. Been reading up on any possible problems in the future. Tyre feathering, whats that?

Also, you can run a carfax. You should of done this before you bought the car anyways and it will tell you and will never lie.

I bought it through a connection at BMW. Got a great offer on my Civic, much faster than expected. This was the car I was looking at when the offer came, took the offer and needed to have the new car fast. Didnt have time to search for others. I'll check VDC, you say next to the buttons on the left?
I saw TCS only, with the same size black plastic part were another buttom of the same could be placed to the right of TCS. Do not see VDC anywhere. So I guess that does make mine an Enthusiast with leather seats?

Well ****.. is $21,000 too much? Ended up being $22,650 after taxes etc from BMW. Its got 34,000 miles. Looks brand new. Aftermarket sub with amp, XM radio and Pioneer head unit. Far as I can tell that's all. Should I go back to BMW and complain or is there really anything I can do? If $21,000 isn't terrible, I'll leave it alone. I just went from a riced up 2003 honda civic to this, I am 21 years old and in college. My dad paid for $10,000 of it.

You got leather seats which is a plus but the only thing is that you have 17" wheels. I wouldn't bring it back.
btw, please run a carfax if you ever buy a car again.
you can purchase any car with leather seats.
whether you chose to add that option or not is up to you. just because these are leather seats does not make it that trim. sometimes, adding the leather seat option is less expensive than buying that specific trim.
I would've put out a little more cash for an 07 base. it's your cash, but that's just me. as long as your happy.

I am very happy with it since I wanted a Z for over a year now. Can't complain to join your family either. Been reading these threads past couple days, everyone seems pretty friendly. I plan to put aftermarket rims on and keep these for the winter, long as I can afford 18" or 19". Prolly can't touch suspension with my cash, so whatever will fit.
Don't worry, carfax will be a gurantee next car in 4-5 years. Just didnt have time to really do that. Sold my civic Friday and bought this Saturday.

I paid $21,500 in May 2006 for my 2003 Enthusiast. It had 32k miles at the time. They were asking $22,000; I could only get them down $500 due to it being a sports car and May.
I'd say you paid a little more than you should have. You do have leather though.
