Agree. I had a 300ZX TT. Power wise they are about the same, but the 300 has no where near the same handling as the 350Z. All around the 350Z is much better.

Only go for the 300 if its a TT and has less than 50k miles. Otherwise you better like fixing busted/rotted/old hoses for the next 12 months on a daily basis.
Stock v stock, the 300zxtt and 350z are pretty close in performance but the 300 will mod to higher hp for less $$$.

I've owned both. I just sold my 90 this spring and I was the original owner. Best car I ever owned. Even better than the previous best car I ever owned, an '81 280ZX. The 300ZX was the most reliable car I ever owned. Least expensive maintenance wise I ever owned. yes the 60k maintenance was a killer, but only every 60k. The interior of the 300ZX is 10x better than the 350Z (I have an Enthusiast). The styling of the car is better, it's a looker. There's no mistaking it for a mitsubishi going down the road. These are all the reasons I owned it for 17 years and miss it today.
The 350Z is faster, it's new, it handles a bit better. If it turns out to be half the car the 300ZX was, I'll be a happy man.

Remember the 300ZXTT was in the class of the super cars and to this day it still can beat a lot of " modern super cars" with minimal upgrades. My TT was a 91 Automatic stage 6 and I would blow away 911 gt3,350Z could not even keep up they were breakfest for me.
The OP didn't ask about modified cars.
Stock for stock, the N/A 300ZX wouldn't come close to a stock 350Z, and based on OEM power-to-weight ratio, the 300ZX TTwould have a slight advantage over a stock 350Z.
Yes I owned a turbo car ('91 MR2.) Yes, its incredibly easy to acheive huge increases in power with not much effort on a turbo engine.
But that isn't what the OP asked about.

The Twin Turbo 300ZX has greater performance specs than the 350Z, and that -includes- the 2007 model, given that we're talking about one that's between '90 and '94. The '95 and '96 are a bit slower, because they removed Variable Valve Timing for emissions purposes. Then again, to come across a really good one, you'll spend way more than you will on a 350Z. You have to understand that they're cars that have been beaten on their entire lives; to find one that is in good condition is not only hard, but expensive. I was going to buy one, because I've always loved them. But, it's simply too expensive. If you go with a 350Z, and do some performance mods, it'll stay with a ZX.

Plus it has a reasonable wieght bogey that can be felt on the street or track. and yes I love 300zx tt...and driven the hell out of them...but you're still talking a decades difference in technology...
Been there done that many times pal. I own a 350 and I'm not bashing it in any way. But I raced my friends 2004 350 with a greddy Twin Turbo set up and he only kept up with me through 1st and 2nd and after that it was all over. I also raced a guy on the street with the stillen set up and that was no competition. I love the 350 but the truth is the truth.

Checked the Nissan dealer in Glendale, the only coupes they have are auto. 31k is a little too much for me to buy a new car, but I'm going to try anyway. Just if you know anyone who is selling, can you tell me?

There are too many Porsche 911s on the road. That's why I don't drive one.
