do the break in, i mean if you want to go fast sooner just drive more it took me less than a month to get my 07 to over 1200 miles so just enjoy the car and cruise for a while may not be fast but its still sexy

Followed the schedule, changed the oil at 2200. Your car, your coin, do what you want.

I Broke mine in per the instructions.

I don't know if this is related, but my stock 05' base Z dynoed 251.1HP on a "dyno dynamics dynamometer", just 5 minutes after a stock 03' dynoed 234.7 on the same dyno.

I got my car one year used from a 58 year old woman, so let's just say I broke in my car for 13,000 miles.

I have a 2006 revup and have NO oil consumption.

I just hit 1200 miles on my 07, did the oil change and she is smooth as silk. When is the next oil change after the first 1200? Can synthetic be used?

Anyways im dying to just open her up at wot. Or if anything else what would you do? I plan to SC her but not till later like few months after they release the vortech for the 07.

I'm definitely waiting for mine to break in. I bought my 06' MT brand new and I have only 246 miles on it. Yes 246! I hardly drive it, mostly a garage queen next a pile of boxes from Greddy and JWT just waiting for the break in period to be over so I can install them. I plan on keeping this car for a long long time so I don't see the need to rush into breaking it in. I usually shift around 3,000rpm but never taken it past 3,500rpm and it runs sooooooo smooth. Plus I have two other nice cars inside my garage for DD. Life's great

Ditto.
I'm going to be spending a lot of miles and years in this car. I didn't want to second guess the manual and then wonder for years if just maybe it would have made a difference. I sincerely doubt if it would, but I'd rather wonder about something else.

I am an old Guy and I broke my Z in the old fashion way. The day after I took delivery I went on a trip that totaled about 1200 miles, during that trip I set it up where i would drive in heavy traffic and a lot of up and down gear shifting but not exceeding 4500 rpms also some freeway driving for extended periods. Changed the oil at 500 miles, then I started pushing it some, not exceeding 5500 rpms till I reached about 1000 miles and finely when I reached 1200 miles (3day later) I did red lined a couple of times. Changed oil to Syth. Oil. Sweet Car! Runs Strong..20000 miles later..

Quick Reply: Anyone done the full break in period on their new Z?
