cars depreciate...with a few rare exceptions. The question you should ask is did you buy it to enjoy it or did you buy it to retain value on when it comes to trade in time? Also, if you are looking at the depreciation from a trade in standpoint, them's the breaks....no matter what "the book" says, you will only get as much as a dealer wants to give you.
if mpg is a concern, I agree, it's not the right car for you, nor will anything that is remotely fun to drive, except, well, a civic si, or a miata, etc.
Z's get 20 mpg in mixed use driving, even when driving it hard. I've averaged this since day 1 of my car, and so does just about every customer we have. The more highway you do, the higher the mpg is...simple logic there.
If you're finding the car a stretch, then sell it...it is, afterall, just a car
It sounds like you've already made your mind up and are maybe looking for people to join your "side" - if that's the case, you're really asking in the wrong place.

As with any car, if you're not happy, get rid of it. I would try to keep it for another year though. You're going to take one hell of a beating especially with the '07s out and the '08s about to be.
but I only get about 20 mpg with a mix of city and highway
The Z is kinda lacking in storage and kinda a pain to move around in while driving..
100 dollars for insurance and another 130 or so on gas,
Enjoy your Honda
People who drive Honda have no personality, sorry, I had to say it.
when I was N/A I consistantly got upper 20's for milage. heck, after I went with a dropped compression motor with a TT setup I still got over 24 mpg on the highway. Are you a 6spd or auto?
for those that are posting your payments:
Your monthly payments mean next to nothing in comparison to another person. Down payment, length of loan, interest rate, negotiated price all are factors of what your payments are.

A big part of it is how much it has depreciated in value compared to other companies cars..somehow it has lost 9k in one year in value..That is crap..
Another thing, for some reason, I dont even drive it hard, but I only get about 20 mpg with a mix of city and highway. For as soft as I drive it, that is crap..
Being worried nonstop that people will vandalize it, mess with it, and having to park miles away from everyone else is really starting to get to me also..Its just like a constant ulcer..
Two seaters are nice and all, but going from 2 suv's to one is kinda tough for sure..The Z is kinda lacking in storage and kinda a pain to move around in while driving..
It just seems like after paying around 600 dollars a month for the car payment, 100 dollars for insurance and another 130 or so on gas, the car isnt worth 850 or so a month of money...Yes it is the most beautiful car on the road..but the value isnt there...
Is the honeymood period over???
What do you guys think I should do? I have the Honda people calling me as soon as they get an 08 Accord Coupe in that I can get a very good price on due to family working for Honda..

-You bought a 300 HP SPORTS CAR car and are complaining about GAS MILEAGE? This in itself makes you stupid. Hint: horsepower comes from BURNING GAS.
-You bought a 2 seater and are complaining about the lack of storage compared to a SUV. Well, no kidding, Sherlock. Isn't that obvious by just LOOKING AT IT? Hint: small things hold less stuff than big things.
-Your paranoia isn't the car's fault, go see a psychologist. Hint: there aren't roving gangs that are solely dedicated to vandalizing your Z, because nobody gives a crap about your car but you.
