not 100% sure on that. Wasnt the track supposed to be the stripped down, no luxuries model? Performance model seems like it would be a mix of track and touring.

To the op, sounds like a track to me.

I think the track could get nav and side air bags, but leather? IDK.

I've seen 03 Track's with factory nav and leather before.

The way to tell for sure, as someone previously mentioned, is VIN+Carfax.

ALOT of misinformed ppl here.

Here are the FACTS.

*Leather NOT a factory option (could get it done from the dealership, but not from the factory)

*Navi IS an option, but you get the BASE sound system.

*BOSE NOT an option

*Side Air bags ARE an option

It's like the C5's for me, anybody can through brake vents and Z wheels on an FRC and claim its a Z06, but until you pop the hood its hard to tell (for most).

Whats the solid thing I should look for to make sure its an actual track model?

Thanks!

Cannot, for the life of me, understand why people buy a sports car and armor all the tires & steering wheel...

I'd say if it has the wheels, brakes, and VDC/TCS then you are safe. Why would someone go to such great lenghts to trick someone when you really can't tell unless you are a pro. Only thing a person would change would be the brakes and wheels.

It's call pride and keeping a car clean. Do you see Ferrari's, Lambo's, Porsche's dirty as $hit out there?

Oh, I keep my car clean, but I also track it quite often. Armor all on the steering wheel is downright dangerous and on the tire sidewalls will cause reduced traction.

Things don't have to be shiny to be clean.

It's all personal preference, and a dealer detailing

You're right about misinformation. On a special order, you could get factory leather on a Track model. I saw one, in person at the dealership with the owner who had ordered it that way. It was not the dealer added leather as I have that myself.

The only 100% certified true way to tell is to have a Nissan dealer look up the car in their system. It came from the factory with a designation (base, touring, track, etc.) and no matter what options were added, or changes made after delivery, will change that factory designation.

Honestly, I'm very doubtful. When I purchased my Z in '03 I tried everthing and anything to get factory leather. Three dealerships told me it could not get done. I wanted a track model and the only option I wanted was leather & Navi. (This was of course because I was planning on keeping the car stock). LOL. My Z was actually flatbedded from Michigan because they could not find a track with navi in IL. I've never heard of anyone "special ordering" a Z directly from Japan. I bet this guy got his leather outsourced somewhere.

edit: with that said, I probably just get screwed by the dealerships who didn't want to order. heh
