That is by far the worst dipstick I have ever used. You can't get a reliable, consistent reading with it without removing the airbox and the MAF tube. Kias have better dipsticks than this. Now, if Nissan changed that, that would be an actual improvement to the car worth the money spent on the R&D. I am sure there's a few more things on the car that could use a "little rework".

I'm still pissed off about that dipstick. Everytime I check my oil, want to stab myself in the eye. How could QA at Nissan allow this type of design to roll out of the factory?
good point, but they did change it for the 07's. i'm ridiculously jealous of the 07 dipstick

back to the point of the thread... really, who needs the "bells and whistles" as someone else pointed out?
i test drove an IS350 [at my parents insistence] before buying the z and the salesman wouldnt stfu about the keyless entry and start. i asked him about the engine, hp, etc etc, and he couldnt answer any of my questions. instead, he kept going back to all the "cool" techy gadgety things that came with the car. i finally told him i didnt care about the damn keyless entry, i care about what's under the hood. he looked very, very confused at that statement, so i left.

a sports car that goes for <40k doesn't need a keyless entry/start.

Ahem!

I agree, it doesn't need push button start and all that crap, but a key that doesn't resemble that of a cheap, square plastic turd identical to an X-terra's...is that really so much to ask?

i dont like the push to start system. it would be nice if the Z fob/remote was designed sleeker.
