premium. its .10 extra/gal. I figure I might as well pay the extra dough. Its a decision that a car owner must take. (save a buck now and put your motor at risk, or don't.) In theory the ECU should be able to compensate if it senses knock, but you have to get knock for that to happen...and any knock is bad knock. So its a "why risk it" type of thing to me.

Use the recommended premium gasoline in your 10.6:1 high compression $28,000+ sports car.

Rocket fuel isn't neccessary, but 91 octane should be fine. Lower than 91 octane would cause harm to your engine in the long run. You can use 87 or 89 if it's the highest octane, but constant practice would only ruin your engine. Also avoid additives. Not sure how much cleaning additive woud help if you were to put junk fuel in your tank.

As for fuel injector cleaner, I used it once a month on my beater to give me better gas milage...and it helps. Not sure if I want to add fuel injector cleaner in my Z.

350z is not a beater. Unless it's your beater, I'm sure you can just pump any fuel in.

Full synthetic 175 octane methane and liquid oxygen enriched moonshine.

You dont even need a turbo on the Z with this stuff, with just a turbonator, I put down 788whp on the dyno.

you're paying ~$1.70 every fill up between midgrade and premium, are you really that cheap?

I would rather spend the few bucks it saves to put premium in vs anything else....

ur friend is retarded if he puts the middle grade in your car. Your car is tuned to run one premium fuel and you will get knocking if your put anything less. sigh idiots.

And the money you save using sh*t gas yields you worse MPG anyways, canceling your savings out completely.

Our Z engines are tuned differently than G35s, M35s, and FX35s. On any of those three, you can fill the car up using 87, because their VQs are tuned slightly different than ours. I still would never suggest doing it - the Ford Tempo we had 10 years ago still got the 93 treatment. It's just safe practice.
