Question New 350z Purchase Help

Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a 350z and would greatly appreciate some advice on my future purchase. I've been a lurker on this board for some time now and all the comraderie is great! I'm sure this topic has been asked enought, but any comments on the following would be great:

1. How much over invoice/under msrp are people paying now, considering the economy and getting past the "new car" factor?

2. Is the Track model worth the price difference over the Touring? (no flames please)

3. When is the 2004 model coming out? Any drastic changes or improvements?

4. Anyone recommend a reputable dealer in the NYC/Northern NJ region?

All comments and advice is greatly appreciated. TIA!!

Anywhere from MSRP to up to $2,000 off.

2. Is the Track model worth the price difference over the Touring? (no flames please)

All depends on what your style is. I would get the Track over the Touring because I have no use for leather seats, nor the shitty Bose stereo. I chose the Performance over the Touring for those two reasons alone.

3. When is the 2004 model coming out? Any drastic changes or improvements?

Rumor has it that the 2004 will be out sometime in September. There will be no major changes (1 color added/dropped).....none IIRC.

4. Anyone recommend a reputable dealer in the NYC/Northern NJ region?

Dan Zeigler @ Smithtown Nissan on Long Island (631) 361-9696 ext 221 . Several of us here have purchased our Z's from him. He posts here as "bluefish"......he'll hook you up. Tell him "Stone Z" from this message board sent you.

It depends on where you get it, and what dealer is willing to work with you. I basically paid 37k out the door for my track with navi.

I wanted the Brembo's and Rays....I dont plan on modding, so that' why I choose the Track. Upgrading the seats to leather is an aftermarket option which I'm doing.

what he said about color change...... yeah, sept or end of aug.

Hey Stone,

Thanks for the quick reply! I will definitely give Dan a call. My buddy's 350z from Importlife.com is sponsored by Smithtown. Please correct me if i'm wrong or am missing something, but the basic difference between the Touring and Track is:

Bose (Touring), Leather (Touring),
Brembo (Track), Cloth Seats (Track), F/R Spoilers (Track).

Can I expect the same amount of discount for the Track model as the touring (MSRP to up to $2,000 off)?

Thanks again guys!

Default Thanks!

Thanks Synth! Hopefully I'll be able to find a dealer that's willing to work. I don't believe it should be too hard with the state of the economy now.

Thanks again!

You're also forgetting about the wheels. With the track you get
the Rays - a far lighter wheel.
