So I'm driving by my dealer this afternoon and decide to stop in and say hi. He tells me that he is supposed to get his first Z in tomorrow. I asked if it was a car that the factory was sending for them to have something to show and he said "No, this is a preorder that was taken in January". It's a Redline Performance and they are sending the car out to have the seats changed to leather. He tells me that he got the pattern from the factory and that a local shop will be doing the work. He had mentioned before that the dealership would be offering leather as an option. He also said that if anyone on the site is interested in having leather put in, they could call him and he would be happy to give them the details. First Nissan, Simi Valley, CA 805-526-9700 ask for Jim Kniedel.....now I know that there has been a lot of speculation, over the past few days, on when the first actual production preordered car will hit the states so please don't kill the messenger if this turns out to be wrong...BTW he was reading the delivery date off his printout as I sat right in front of him...let's all just hope the cars are really close to delivery

 

I sure hope this is true. Please get some pictures or even video if possible.

 

Jim actually said he would take some digital shots to post on the site..he said I may have to help him upload them and I told him I would..I will keep you posted if he calls me at work tomorrow to tell me the car arrived

 

Hmmmmmm........WELL RXO says the 12th.....Maybe he means next monday???

Damn! I didn't realize the Z was going to be half the size of a ship! I don't think it's going to fit in my garage.....

 

All I can tell you is that his paperwork said Aug. 5th...like I said..let's hope he is right

There will be a large shipment the week of the 12th.
There are some cars (about 600) in the system already.
The came in comingled with other Nissan vehicles on other ships.
Actual retail delivery, only Nissan (and the dealers) know.

Thanks for the info RXO. But I got another question, if "some" cars is about 600, then how big is a big shipment, like say the one on the 12th?? 2,000 cars? 3,000 cars?? Just wondering....well, and hoping that it's like 3,000 so mine will come then too.

I sure hope people get there Zs this week, even if its not me. I really want to hear what they have to say. and i hope one will be in Minnesota. Its getting really close to Z day

 

Who says Christmas only comes once a year? It's Christmas in August Boys and Girls! The moment we've all been waitng for is finally here. What's the chances of a member of this forum being on the recieving end of one of the first 600 350Z's?

Oooh I can hardly bare the anticipation!!! Then the motherload on the 12th. I may have to be admitted for an accute case of Z-Mania.

 

I have a feeling this board is going to EXPLODE once some members get their first Z. Videos, Pictures, Reviews, and opinons. Road racing, dynos, break in's, Glitches, etc.

It's going to be an onslaught.

Well...it's 7:30 am Pacific time and the dealer hasn't called me yet to tell me the car has been delivered...what's up with that?..he should have never told me that he thought he was getting one in today...think I'm gonna be on him all day?

 

I'm @ work here in Simi Valley..I would sure like to see it if it arrives..

 

How about now? O.K., now? Allright, how 'bout now?...

 

12:35 Pacific time and I just called the dealer...he tells me he just got a call from Nissan saying the car is NOT being delivered today...What dealer will be the first to have one?..Guess we all just have to wait some more...DAMN...I was really praying they would start showing up today...somewhere...anywhere!!
