Default Touring Or No?

Hey everyone im looking on buying a used Z very soon and im interested in the touring cuz it has leather and more importantly the bose stereo system, well is it worth spending the extra money for the touring because of those features or should i just save money and get a newer model like an enthusiest? Is the stero system not so good on the regualr ones ?

THANKS

This is something you should decide for yourself. For me, it was not worth it, so I bought an enthusiast.

The stock stereo is fine with me. I added a sub just to help fill out the low end.

Touring is Nice. You get the leather seats and there heated. I love them. Unless you live in Arizona thats a plus. Get what you want though. I have seen the cars with the cloth seats and personally imho I dont like them. Looks kinda cheap.

I have a 03 touring. The bose systems is terrible and the leather seats are alright. I would try to find track model if I was you, thats what I wish I had done. This is the first time that I owned leather seats, not a big fan of them, exact for the seat heaters. The track model has the lighter rims and the Brembo brake package. Just my 2cents.

what are you taking about the bose system sounds not all that great. It sound really good compared to the regular system the base 350Z has. Now if you are use to having an aftermarket system with amps and subs then yeah that would be better than Bose. I had the aftermarket set up in my Z32TT and it was great but,The Bose system in my 07 is just fine I love it.

If you're buying Touring for Bose system, please don't.
It's a POS. Buy a Z, and swap out the stereo for aftermarket system asap.

My experience is only with the '07. I have a lot of experience with Bose in general. The system in this car is very good. The strong point is clarity as opposed to window rattling volume. I do like the sub behind the driver's seat. I love the perforated leather seats. The trick is to condition them. I use Lexol and the Zaino leather conditioner. Adds a nice touch to the car. To me, the touring package was worth the extra $.

I have an 03 touring. Considering that the interior didn't get many high reviews in the fit and finish category (cheap plastics etc), I feel that the leather adds a really nice touch and upscales the look/feel quite a bit. The touring seats are both heated and power adjustment also.

On the other hand the Bose system is adequate, but nowhere near great. Also Bose is a pain to swap, so if you are not satisfied it would be easier to swap out the regular headunit than the bose. Definitely NOT worth upgrading only for the Bose, an aftermarket system may be extremely better for the money. BTW, a few of us had to have the Bose replaced under warranty for various reasons as well, including problems with the automatic volume control (it gets louder at the wrong time) etc. I don't know about the 06-07's but the 03-05 Bose doesn't even sound as good as the 1996 bose system that was in my maxima.

The best reasons I found for the touring were the HID lights, the leather, the bigger wheels, the VDC and the little wing on the back. The HIDs and leather were definitely worth the $$$. If I had to choose all over again it would still be touring or track, unless I could get a lower model 07 for the same cost.

I love my '03 touring. I have had 2 amps replaced under warranty but I do enjoy the sound of the bose. I wish the wheels were a little more wide in the back but all in all I'm glad I went with the touring.

I love my '06 grand touring Z. I think the Bose stereo is great... I don't want to mess with an aftermarket installation where I got to remove a lot of stuff and replace it so that there are rattles and stuff... I got no rattles at all. Plus, it's harder to steal than an aftermarket... so it's a little safer. I really like the stock navi... works very well.

The Bose stereo has great clarity... I'm not into hip hop... so I wouldn't want a 2,000 watt amp in my trunk with 15 inch subwoofer that will make my whole car thunder and quake... I don't really care for stereos that go BOOM BOOM BOOM ...and people can feel you coming from 3 blocks away. So, for rock music, I think it's great.

If you are into rap and hip hop... you will probably find the stereo deficient.

If I had it to do over... I'd go touring. Just my 2 cents.

I love my Touring, the bose system...well..i could care less, but I love the heated leather. Comes in handy in fall here in chicago. I say go for a touring model especially if youre not tracking it much.

I love my touring as well, I thought the Bose system was adequate for me, better than other stock system that I've heard (note, I've heard, not all stock system). I love my leather seats, oem spoiler and HID.

I've always liked leather. The bose stereo is better than the base model. Used touring coupe models don't cost much more than lower trimmed coupe models. I think the VDC or traction control is a must, at least until you get used to the car. A touring model is more appealing to more people, so not only will you impress more people while owning it, but it will sell more easily when you're ready to move on. This is why I bought a used touring, and I would do it again.

Go for it man, Touring is the sht, but the bose system suck dck. it's way overrated. I changed my speakers to 8 rainbow + eclipse +amp = ear orgasm.
leather heated seats r sweet. Don't get track, just change brakes n rims.
Good luck finding your dream car n start pimping!!!
