Is anyone in SF Bay Area??
I guess you did not know about ZFEST in Fremont today. There were two track models and one touring model there today at ohlone college. Too bad!!

That's cooooooool. I am in Cabo, Mexico on 9/1 unfortunately for the concert I am thorowing over labor day weekend.... so I am thinking about getting on 3rd. or so. Let's get together early Sep. anyway
I don't think there will be more than 1 or 2 Z's delivered in the Bay area before early September. I spoke to the head Z guy at the Redwood City Nissan dealer. His dealership had 16 preordered Z's. Their first ones won't be in until early September. My dealer in Seaside has no cars until September as well.

No reason to think it will be delayed. It will just be one of the first delivered to the Bay Area. Rumor on the Board has a big shipment arriving in LA on August 12. I would bet that a rather large number make it up here. Unfortunately. mine won't be one of them. I will be lucky to get it until late October.
I live in Santa Cruz and work in San Jose. I preordered my Z in Santa Rosa and was up there this weekend for my 10 year High School Reunion.
I stopped by the Dealer this morning and saw that my Z (Brickyard Performance) was scheduled to come in during the month of October. I was about 1/2 way down the list of pre-orders (maybe 7th or 8th out of 16) and I saw that the first few were due during September, and the last one was November. There weren't any specific dates, just the month, so I don't know how accurate the estimates are.
I ordered my Z on February 2, so if you had ordered before that date, yours may very well arrive in September (although 9/1 seems a bit optimistic).
I missed the Z fest in Fremont this weekend, but I did go to the event in Blackhawk a couple months ago. They had the Daytona Blue Enthusiast or Base model (it had 17" Wheels) and it was beautiful. Many people don't seem to like the looks of the Z, but after seeing it in person, and next to classics like Ferrari's, Bugatti's, Duesenberg's, etc, I think it looks fantastic. I really like the interior, too. I was impressed by its simplicity and functionality. There was not a bunch of gimmicky crap, or superfluous buttons. Very clean.
Anyhow, good luck on your Z; I sure wish mine was also arriving in September!
Oh yeah, the dealer (Freeman Nissan in Santa Rosa) said that there would be a Z Owners Club meeting up there, and they would try to get some 350's to display. I'll post if I get more details.
Finally, and now I'm just rambling, I stopped by the bookstore today and picked up Motor Trend, Car and Driver, CAR (USA Edition), and EVO (another British mag) because they all have reviews of the Z. I'd already read most of the reviews in electronic form, but I wanted copies for myself. I found it very interesting how the reviews differ. Almost everyone agrees that the performance is excellent and the handling is neutral, except for C&D who seems to think it understeeers heavily (maybe they tested a poorly tuned pre-production/prototype?). On the other hand, many feel the interior is plain and cheap, while Motor Trend says "its interior is a relationship-builder....Attention to detail is rich, materials pleasing, the layout intuitive." Well, you know what they say about opinions...
Ok, I'll shut up now.

Hey, I say sometime in mid October us pre ordre z maniacs in the bay area get together and take a drive to the coast. I have always wanted to be in one of those classic car caravans, where you see the porches or corvettes. We should do one for our beauties. I will organize something when a good number of us have our cars.
Cheers,

I was lucky in my case.
I went to the dealer two weeks ago and some one couldn't have put the deposit in time on the exactly same model I wanted in first delivery round. I took it from him.
And my dealer still says I can get it on 2nd or so next month.

Hey D'oh,
How's Marty at Freeman doing these days? I haven't spoken with him for almost 2 weeks now. I'm #2 on that delivery list (#1 to place order at dealer) you saw yesterday. I sent him an email on Friday wondering if he had my Vin# yet (probably in S.D. at the NNA meeting). Guess I'll have to call him today.
It would be nice if they could arrange some kind of get together up in this neck of the woods. I went to Blackhawk too but couldn't stay long enough to get to sit in the 350.

Anyway... After I drive it for a while, my black 350z will be sitting in my shop with my other cars. I welcome anyone if you want to see it. After that, it is going to have crazy mods for the track racing use as soon as mod plan is done......

Zwindsor you lucky bastard, I sure wish I was closer to the top of the list!
I'm not sure if I've talked with Marty. I've only talked with the sales people twice, once when I pre-ordered back in February, and then yesterday morning when I was driving back down to Santa Cruz (each time it was a different person). The sales guy I talked to yesterday did tell me that he was constantly getting calls about the Z, so I told him I'd leave him alone for another couple months and then see how things were doing.
It's damn hard waiting though!
