Not a bad video. I didn't think that a stock non-M verson would do so well against the Z roadster.
Don't understand why BMW website shows MSRP is 36K and dealership MSRP is 46K when I was looking at them today. I was over there looking at all the models while my Pathfinder leather was being repaired. BMW does know how to repair leather for my NISSAN..... Well, at least their vendor does. Lol !!!

best to link the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOeI3tcbL4g or at least the thread: http://www.awdforums.com/bmw-z4-vs-t869.html, not the whole forum
What the hell? They're way off in their performance tests. They said the Z4 is half a second faster than the 350Z? They got their numbers way wrong - it's the Z that's half a second faster. The Z4 Roadster is a mid-14 second car. And the 2007 ZR is a high 13 second car. :|

The 350z roadster beat the z4 at every test. Yet they still choose the Z4 that just doesn't make since to me and as far the z4 being quicker 0-60 and 1/4 mile every other test I have read the 350z smacks it.

Unlike the other models, the Z4 3.0si with 255bhp is decently quick. If I were in the market for a roadster, I'd take the Z4 as well, but coupe for coupe is a more difficult decision in my mind.
I do enjoy these comparisons, but would like to see them switch between cars. Tiff is quite enamored with the hardtop Z for it's price and performance, so it would be interesting to see his comments on the convertible.

From an unbiased point of view, i'm damn sure a Z4 is better than a ZR at a track. The Z4 started as a convertible design from the start. The ZR was not. The coupe Z's structural strength is less prone to twisting of the chassis / movements versus the ZR, plus it weighs more. The z4 weighs much less and was built as a roadster to begin with, that plus a linear torque curve and 50/50 balance help make it an easy car to drive. In reality, it would go like this. Power / Straight line / top end goes to the 350zr. The handling goes to the Z4. Think of the Z4 as an equivalent to the S2k, but german and 6cyl.
