In his defense, it's not like he wants to take his daughter out while racing down the highway or anything. He's talking about driving the car around the neighborhood (assuming this is an actual neighborhood, and he wasn't saying neighborhood meaning town) for a few minutes to give his little girl a little smile

My thinking exactly. I remember my dad letting me "drive" around the corner by standing on his lap and steering the wheel. Most people today would probably demand the child abuse/death sentence, but it's one of the greatest moment of my life.



PS. I'm 30yrs old and the above story occurred last week!

 

I can't begin to tell you the **** I got up to with my dad as a kid. From riding to work with him in the front in central London when he was a photocopier engineer (as the back was full of copiers) to steering from his lap sometimes.

I don't know how kids are going to grow up honestly - I'm not saying that you should throw your kid into the street, but man.. read this for an interesting look at our "Generation Y" now (let alone Generation Z):
