i had an mr2 turbo before i got my z as well. what i liked about the mr2 was that it felt much quicker due to its small size and turbo pull. it was also a lot easier to see and had ttop option. but the z looks way better inside and out. i personally miss the mr2 because of the turbo feel but since ur planning on a turbo z, the z is a better choice.

sounds good to buy the Z and boost it with the extra $$ that you got, sleeper's are crazy. a lot of people spend too much making their car look nice (me included), and then complain that they want power, just make the power first and im sure you'll be happy, because the Z looks awesome anyways stock.

I guess I'd say yes simply to move on. You say you know the MR2 inside and out, it's going to sound corny but you might find it enjoyable going back to square one and building a new FI car. I know it would make me feel complete...

So many questions - will I be happy with stock suspension, etc....

As far as boosting it, I've read too many "i blew up my motor tonight" threads to go through that crap. The VQ35HR motor (on 2007+ Z's) may be better for boosting, we'll have to see. Just make sure to get it tuned right, and be conservative on your psi.
280whp in the MR2 must be fun.. I'm at about 200 and it feels good (except for the typical CT-26 high-rpm weakness). Still, my power-to-weight ratio in the Z is higher than the MR2 (251whp, 3240 lbs).
