Im surprised nobody has recommended it, have you thought of shifiing some other weight around, IE battery. Get a battery relocation kit, stuff the battery in the trunk and you will be good as gold. You can keep the the same weight but slightly shifted to the rear. This will keep your weight distrabution closer to 50/50. Just a suggestion
"...when i rev it to 7500 and drop it into second...'---OP
Good grief. Do people really do this?
Yes, its called having a Manual Transmission.
You redline first gear , aka 7500RPM (VQ35HR) , and you push this pedal, its called a clutch, and then you move the gear shifter into 2nd Gear, then you release that special clutch pedal, and you mash on the accelerator pedal. Its much more fun than an AuToMaTiC.
Yuk it up MF (my friend). I know it can be done but going to 7500 RPMs & dropping into gear has to be hard on the tranny.
Its hard on the tranny, but the transmission can take it. Have you ever seen the insides of Z/G transmission? The gears and teeth are thicker than a Getrag. The VQ35HR has a redline of 7500RPMs, the VQ35HR makes power all the way to redline. 7500RPMs is the optimal shifting point. I dont think Nissan would give us that redline/fuel cutoff to not hit if we wanted to. It is completely safe (as long as you dont hold it there for 2 minutes) , this is a performance car if you didnt know. Some people actually like to use that given performance, and not drive it like a grandpa 95% of the time. Nissan made the Z to be driven hard...
