I have a Frontier and a 350, i would stay in the nissan family more because of my truck than my car. The Z is a great car but the Frontier honestly has been the best all round vehicle i have owned.

Not really a factor for me, but I KNOW that I will have to get a GT-R in the future.

There's a probability that they will release it based on demand, just like the new M5.

Lastly, if I were to consider another performance coupe, while it may be more expensive, the R8 is just secksier than the GT-R (and unlike with Nissan, I know that with Audi, the service department won't treat me like crap if something needs to be repaired under warranty).
I am coming from a Lexus IS to a Nissan 350z.. Let me tell you My Lexus experience was absolutly horrible. Recalls galore, Damaged my car Valet put a huge 2 inch deep gap into rear door reaching almost to the bumber. Curbed my week old $450 a piece wheel.. I had to threaten to get the BBS involved to get my wheel replaced.. Also they Scratched up my 17 inch Stock Chrome Wheels.. This forced me away from Lexus

I would certainly consider another Nissan.

I will say one thing; my days of bashing American cars have been over for a couple years now. I have both a 2003 Lincoln LS V8 and a 2004 Cadillac CTS in my family “neither is mine” and both those cars are rock solid and have had zero problems over the past few years.

So, while I would consider a Nissan, I would most defiantly give an American car another chance as well when shopping.

the best was when i was at the lexus dealership, dropping off my dad's RX. they were on the ball with everything from bottled water to free polo tshirts...

I've had absolutely nothing go wrong with my car in almost 4 years of hard driving. And, unlike Toyota's, the car has a soul. I love the thing. But I will not buy a vehicle JUST because it's a Nissan. It has been great, though.

I've owned one of each of the big three asain automakers and here's my take on them. First I had 94 4Runner which was tough as nails. Seriously the biuld quality was amazing I sold it with 200,000 miles and it didnt have a squeek.

Then a 99 Honda Prelude, which I made the mistake of supercharging. The cars build quality compared to Toyota was a joke. My friend opened the door one day and pop, there goes the spring again (happened to both doors twice). Oh and yeah I replaced the interior door handles because the fake crome kept peeling off. And after the modding starting it was the biggest closet peice of **** car.

Anyways to the 350z...I would rank Nissan close to Toyota but still behind them in biuld quality and way better than Honda based on my 350Z. Only thing I hate about Nissan is their lack of attention to paint quality. And foreal their window motors suck A S S.

To sum it up...I would buy a Toyota for a Truck or SUV (since they have no exciting cars whatsoever in production today.) For car/coupe wise, it would have to be a Nissan make. For luxury I would go straight to Infinity; they can't even be touched luxury/performance/value wise, not to mention all their cars are RWD.

btw I love my Z

Naww. I had a Honda first, then a Dodge, then a Toyota and now a Nissan. I buy the car I like at the time, not who makes it.

Hey all - my first post as I'm new to the forum. I love my Nissan 350z and am convinced that for the money it is the most performance you can get off the lot. Having said that - just under 2000 miles (just past break in) my engine ran dry of oil and started to make a variety of noises (valve clattering and etc. I believe.) Very long story short - but I fought with Nissan for just over six months before they gave us a new engine. Unfortunately that process soured the joy of the new car a bit. I still love the car, and have a blast on a regular basis - however have come to believe that although Nissan cars are solid for the most part - Nissan Corporate is a monster and has no clue how to deal with basic customer service. Knowing that I'm a bit reluctant to get another Nissan - unfortunate.

Good point. Now isn't that why we all have Z's.
