After owning a Nissan will you continue to drive/buy Nissan cars and trucks based on your experience with the 350z or is this not a factor when buying another automobile in the future?
I bought my 350Z in 2005 as a statement - a celebration of my retirement from the life of a gypsy (US Navy). I looked over the market from Audi to Porsche looking at cars as cheap as the $25,000 Mini Cooper, the Honda S2000, Audi TT, Porsche Boxster, and even upto the $70,000 911 and Corvette. The price wasn't my first concern and the 350Z was an easy first choice.
When it came time to buy a daily driver with the ability to tow a 5000 pound light camper and take me off road I ran the market again - Ford, Dodge, Jeep, Chevy, Toyota ... and ended up in an Xterra. Fine fine truck that I've modified more than the Z even.
I'm not a "Nissan" man, they've got to win each analysis.

I'm leaning towards no. While I like my 350, it's not the best in terms of fit and finish. Also, that taken with the fact that Nissan service is terrible to deal with compared to how my Audi and Lexus driving friends are treated like kings when they're in for service makes me fully appreciate why Nissan has been losing money and will always be behind Toyota and Honda.
Lastly, if I were to consider another performance coupe, while it may be more expensive, the R8 is just secksier than the GT-R (and unlike with Nissan, I know that with Audi, the service department won't treat me like crap if something needs to be repaired under warranty).

Greetings,
My last statement to NNA was basically to tell them that they have forced me to look at another brand come time to trade. I love the Z but have had no satisfaction in dealing with both the dealership and NNA. Although I have a 2005, I did have feathering issues and got no where at all. All I asked was to have the issued corrected, asked for nothing free. Secondly my clutch pedal sticks about half way up in heavy traffic or hot weather. My favorite statement from the service rep was either, "can not replicate that problem" or "we have not had any reports of that issue with your model".
The new Toyota and Honda models are looking sweet.

Bought my first Nissan (a Maxima) in 1983. Since then my wife and I have had the following:
4 Maximas
3 Altimas
1 Pathfinder
2 Sentras
1 Quest
2 I30s
and now finally the 350Z
I've had a problem here or there, but for the most part I've been very satisfied.

Yes and no. If Nissan brings out another solid product, I'll consider it. Otherwise, I'll stick to Infiniti.
I used to own a 5th gen Maxima prior to the Z. The Z is the last great car left in Nissan's lineup.

I started out with Nissan (Ok a Datusun really) and after driving American and other Asian Brand I have returned to Nissan.

Here is my evolution in vehicles:
1985 Mustang GT
1990 Pontiac Grand-Am LE Coupe
1991 Mazda 929 S
1994 Dodge Ram Lariat
1998 BMW 318is
2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE Sedan
2003 Nissan 350Z Touring
2006 Nissan Murano SL AWD
2008 Nissan Titan SE Crew Cab
Besides the BMW, I don't think any car I've ever owned has matched the quality I've found in Nissan. Sure, there are problems here and there. But, over all, the dealership, service center and the enjoyment I get out of the vehicles will keep me going back... if the meet my needs.
My dealership bends over backwards for me (maybe because I've bought 3 cars from them) and if I have a problem, they usually take care of it on the spot instead of having me make an appointment.
The buying/owning/maintenance experience has be phenomenal for me. So, if this continues, I'll continue to do business with them.

I have owned only Nissan's all my life and owned 1 Lexus and I prefer Nissan. Out of all my Nissans the Z car have been the best without a doubt. The only none nissan I had was the Lexus SC400 and I spent more money on repairs (oil leaks every where) than all my other cars.)The Lexus though is a smooth ride @210K miles. Drives like new.

Actually, after owning my Z, I would be very hesitant to purchase another Nissan. Not that anything went seriously wrong with it or I had any troubles from the dealership. It's just that there were enough little things going wrong to really start to annoy me.
Out of all of the vehicles I've owned before, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to BMW or if I was in the market for another truck Ford and my Hummer seems to be holding up so far, but then again, it only has 3k miles on it.

I would buy another Nissan if they had a car that I wanted at the time. My son has an Xterra and a 3.5L Altima and I traded a 2005 Maxima for my Z. These cars have proven to be well built and reliable (and fast). However, if Toyota or some other brand came out with a new model that caught my fancy I wouldn't hesitate to switch.
Honda is still #1 in my book as far as a reliable, everyday, nothing breaking kind of car. Nissan service has been good to me except for my most recent issues, which the new service manager blew off. I think I need to find a new dealership to get serviced at. Other than that, I'll buy almost any Japanese car over almost any American car, especially the smaller, cheaper cars. But, no, Nissan has definitely not won me over in terms of fit, finish, and reliablility with the Z. Honestly, if it was a regular car, and not the Z, I would have sold it a long time ago.
