OK I agreed untill I read this...IMO, comparing the Z to a Malibu's fit and finish is way off the deep end...

I feel more loyalty to the Z than to Nissan in general. I may get another Z if it feels right but won't know till I have to take the plunge in 3 years

Not a die hard NISSAN man either. My first NISSAN was a 91 MAXIMA SE' which origined in Japan, and my second NISSAN is the 05' 350Z which also origined there as well.

I'm shying away from any NISSAN built in the U.S.

Each purchase as stated by another memeber is a "case by case" analysis.

Default i was kinda the reverse!

i bought my 05 350z becuase of the extremely great experience i have had with my 97 pathfinder.

as a broke university student i needed a vehicle that was reliable and could get me up to the mountains all winter long (snowboarding) since i live in alberta i was choosing between a high mileage pathfinder or toyota 4r(must be an import). i bought the pathfinder with about 160,000 miles and it still ran great and looked great. over the years i miled it up to arounf 220,000 miles (350,000 kms) and the truck is still running strong with no issues other than the usual problems with the r50 pathy.

so when i finished univ and got an excellent job $$ the first thing i did was buy a 350z, and i love it. when the pathy dies, if it ever does i will definetely stay in the nissan family. now this weekend i am tucking the z into storage and putting the pathy back in full use for the harsh winter months. its nice because i wont have to park so far away to avoid door dingers, my pathy has paid for itself 10 times over

Honda, Toyota, Nissan FTW, maybe a subaru if they ever stop ****ing up the front end on the WRXs, Mazda pretty good too, but i'm afraid that the Ford suckness might start to effect mazda, hopefully they will go bankrupt before that happenes

after owning numerous cars, domestic and import. i will stick with nissan and recommend it to anyone shopping for a vehicle. i have loved nissan since the 90+ 300zx. after owning a 300zxtt nissan won me over. they did an ever better job with the 350z.

I buy cars that I find to be worth the money spent. I'd never buy another Ford though. The exploder I owned a while back was by far the worst vehicle I've ever owned.

In the future I will be looking @ :

2010-2011? 350z
2010 Chev. Camaro
2009 BMW 3 or 5
2009 Benz C
2009 Infin. G37

I would think a large majority of people here are loyal to the 350z community, rather than the manufacturer.

May the best car win. I don't think I'll be getting another Nissan anytime soon, but time will tell.

In my case, I have owned a lot of Z's in the past, a couple Altimas and a 01 Pathfinder. All my Nissan have been really nice and pretty trouble free. I also have owned and loved a bunch of american cars. However, the quality was always sub-par on those compared to the Nissan except for the Ford Trucks.

Will I be loyal to Nissan .... Nah, but as long as they make a good quality vehicle that sparks my inspiration or exceeds needs... I'll give them a look first.

It was between the S2K and the Z. The Z won. When it's time for my next purchase(SUV, Econo, Minivan), It'll probably be a Honda.

Lastly, if I were to consider another performance coupe, while it may be more expensive, the R8 is just secksier than the GT-R (and unlike with Nissan, I know that with Audi, the service department won't treat me like crap if something needs to be repaired under warranty).
maybe they make fun of you because you have neon purple underglow...

this is my second Nissan in a row (had an 02 Max 6spd before the Z) and i love Nissans.

they do need to do something about their paint quality however, the paint chips TOO easy. and no, people shouldn't have to shell out money for a clear bra.

I only bought Honda, Toyota, and Lexus prior to this Nissan, but seeing as how bulletproof the 350Z is (provided you got the updated tranny) Nissan is on my list. Love the VQ engine, didn't understand what all the rave was about until I drove one, no wonder its been on Ward's 10 best engine list for so long. Sounds like a V8 and nice and torque, pretty much zero maintence since it has a timing chain, just change the oil and go.

I don't like to pay for an overpriced car like a BMW, Porsche, or MB when you can get a more reliable Japaneese make that provides 90% of the performance with twice the reliability and half the cost. Hell I would even buy an American car if they just started making them better, the Sky Redline was on my list until I read about having to take it into the shop for such stupid things like differentials and poor fit and finish.
