So I was on the highway and then BAM
A rock the size of a marble hits my windshield...I actually saw it for a split second...then I kind of just sat there staring blankly at my windshield and my girlfriend says she's never seen my face so pissed.

With my insurance if the repair fixes it there is no ded. That one could possibly be fixed. Same thing happened to my Pathfinder.... One week old. I didn't want to break the factory seal so ..... I tried the repair. I was amazed how great it came out. I can't even find it seven years later.
If I had to replace the window it would have only cost me $50 after that if I didn't like the way it came out. I was truly amazed how good it was so I left it like that .... no $'s out of my pocket and factory window seal still intact to this day.
The thing is you want to do this within 24-72 in order to avoid getting any dirt in there. The repair works very well if repaired right away. You wait a week or two, the contaminates get in there and do not allow the material to flow all the way in. That does cause a lousy repair. That's what happened to me the first time I tried the repair process on my Ranger..... Then it was all explained to me.... Doh ..... If I had only gone in sooner....
So, if you are considering .... and your insurance pays for such.... do it sooner than later.

Sucks man. I replaced my Z windshield a few months back. Last year I had a bolt come off a truck and hit and actually took a chunk out of my windshield on my Maxima and it has yet to spread out. However, I had a tiny pebble hit it a few weeks later and it spiderwebbed all over.
