Well, I guess I'll be the first one to admit that I don't have the new car smell anymore...... I'm pretty sure i know why tho, I usually bring a cup of coffee with me on my way to class in the mornings and by mid afternoon the car smells like "French Vanilla"... Oh well..

 

I use the Zaino Z10 Leather Treatment, and it doesn't necessarily recreate the 'new car smell' but it brings out the smell of the leather. Hmmm... Or does the treatment stuff just smell like new leather. Crap. Now I'm going to spend all night trying to figure THAT out

 

Got mine for 1 month now, not so long, still smell like BRAND NEW!!! (d'oh)

 

I've had mine since January and I drive quite frequently with the windows down but I still have the new car smell. I've been hoping it would pass because the smell is great at first but after a few weeks it's been giving me a headache.

 

I actually agree with Ares I dont think its the leather thats causing the nw car smell remember some of us dont have leather. I think it a combo of all of the materials, plastics,etc that causes it. I really do notice the smell more if I havent been in either car in a day when I step into either of them.

 

I got my end of last August, didn't drive it much during winter & have 5000 miles on it. Last time I remember getting in & smelling the "new car" scent was probably back in October/November, but the funny thing is that when I give people rides they still tell me my car smells new! For example I gave a girl a ride home last week & as soon as she gets in she comments on the new car smell, I'm like I've had it for 9 months....

 

I got my Lexus RX300 in April 2002, and over a year later, it still smells like new!
