Default Driving and Speed

I know I have only had the car 3 days but I got pulled over, luckly the cop was nice and gave me a warning notice. I am sure the PBA card helped and it was from a Detective. Yes I was speeding 80 in a 50 but if I was in my A4 nothing probably would have hapened or it was just the wrong time. Dont get me wrong I do not condone speeding but being I am still learning the car which is what I tld him. Do most of you just drive the speed limit when driving around and just speed on the highway? I was on a major road, I would never speed on a side street. Just curious when you guys really open the power up on the road. And how many people with Z's are like sought out by cops? I hope this car is not worth the hassel

you just have to know the roads around you...i don't know ne roads in jersey where there are no cops...I'm in central jersey around rutgers...i've gotten up to a hundo on the tp but that was for about 5 secs...other than that...you should take it to the track...i'm thinking of bringing mine to lime rock next spring...if i can wait...

I am around rutgers from time to time... GREESE TRUCKS! I am normally at a place called Prive, small club / lounge. Do you drive the 350Z in the snow at all? Or you drive something else?

I think its best if you have the need for speed to do it on a 2 lane highway or interstate... in town is not a good idea, plus theres 10x's as many cops. Ive had my Z up to 162 mph on the interstate, but it was 2 in the morning and there wasnt a car around for miles.... (in montana) lol. I just got a new escort 8500 radar detector and its saved my azz multiple times.

Unless you can prove to us you can bend the laws of physics, you're a very bad driver...

Speeding at 60% above posted speed limit in a car your "learning" isn't very smart...

But, you probably know best...

Well when you come from an A4 with 200HP made for comfort to a sports car at 300HP made for speed down shifting and hitting the gas to pass someone I will agree from that not bright. Was it smart, no, did I learn yes. I am not sayng the cops were wrong I am old enough to understand that.

I might have to go the radar way just as a reminder, its fun to have power but I guess you just dont use it. Unless you dont mind going to jail, well I think u would doing 30 over the speed limit? OR do they just tow your car?

Seriously, be careful learning the power of your car. I posted this just a few days ago as a sort of PSA to new Z drivers...

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....tomy+of+a+spin

And this was an experienced autocrosser. ( -just not experienced with 300hp RWD)

You don't want to "learn" this lesson on a public road. If you can find an autocross or other HPDE event near your location, go have fun and learn there. You will love your car that much more and you will be a better driver in general. ( I hardly speed anymore because going fast in a straight line is quite boring compared to what happens on the track)

I will deffinitly agree about that! Typically I go 60mph with a few bursts to pass other cars but nothing that bad

I'm not hating on the straight track croud. I even went to one over the summer. But even then the tree, timing lights and slips remove all doubts and most excuses in a way that nothing on the street can match.

Get good on the track, any kind of track, and public roads can become far less tempting. At least they did for me. Ok, so the Tail of the Dragon still tempts me, but not as much as it used to.

Agree. You represent all 350Z drivers on the road. Your actions reflect on all of us.

Performance is pretty exciting. Joins some of the racing clubs in your regional forum. There are no trophies for speeding on the highway.
