Default drove a '07 vert today...

Whats up everyone...
I just got back with the dealers '07 convertable a few hours ago and I was not very impressed to say the least..Now I currently own an '04 6spd. enthusiast and I was hoping to see a big improvement from what I have been hearing....In all fairness though I do have the usual bolt on's done to my car and I know the convertable is about 400 pounds heavier than mine as well...
I originally went to drive a hardtop enthusiast, but they had nothing in a 6spd other than the convertable that was on the lot.. It may seem like a unfair comparison, but I guess I was expecting a little more performance than I felt today.. However the HR reved freely and smoothly, but I was not liking the clutch delay or the weak clutch pedal feel like others have complained about as well...In fact to me the major improvement to me seemed like the tranny...It shifted very smooth and is much quieter than my '04......
In conclusion I guess I really need to wait until they get a 6spd enthusiast on the lot so I can have a better comparison, but in the mean time I could not wait to get back into my '04!! Does this sound crazy to anyone!!!??? Comments and bashing welcome...

From what I have heard the '07 feels smoother than previous models thats why it doesn't feel quite as quick. Take a look at the drag section on here and you will see in fact that guys are running 13.2 stock with the hr where 13.6 was the best time I have seen with previous 350z. 4 tenths of a second is a decent improvement to me in a 1/4 mile drag race. I have owned a '03 touring model and now I own a '07 base I can say that maybe down low it doesn't feel much quicker but up top especially merging on the freeway it is faster.

Yeah I believe the Z roadster weights quite a bit more. So I would compare coupe with coupe.

Thanks for the replies everyone...I have been checking out the drag section and was seeing that the hr coupes were running low to mid 13's at around 105 mph but also in the back of my head I should have remembered that my car is probably trapping around the same with my mods (ie, t.p,cat back, intake, and plenum spacer)..
All in all I know it was not a fair comparison and I cant wait until the salesman calls me when the get a 6spd enthusiast in stock...I really cant wait until the '09 comes out with the 3.7....Hopefully nissan doesnt pork up to much when it comes out though!!
