Glad your from Texas!!!!
So let me see $249.00 each time your cute pod $hits, a known issue by the way. And the new cute pods are beginning to have features more like gen. 1 Zunes. Microsoft released the gen. 2 Zunes last week & can't keep em on the shelves, more features: bluetooth, bigger screen, more intuitive software and best of all nothing to do with the cutepod co. aPPle
But then you are from TexaSS

No aux input for me, it's a direct, full control connection.

No aux input for me, it's a direct, full control connection.I was going to mention that but I wasn't sure how the Zune compared in that department. But yeah, there's lots of options for iPod decks and they handle the iPod navigation great.... I can switch through my artists, songs, and playlists without a hassle (and without having to actually look at my iPod)... all while its being charged.
Heck, the new deck don't even ned an adapter to control it, just plug it in to the docking port
Alpine even has a deck made specifically for an iPod, doesn't even have a CD slot lol
