I actually like storing it. Keeps the mileage low and car in good condition. Also gives me something to look forward to in the spring!

I am parking my Z soon too this is going to suck... I just got her in August and haven't even hit 3000 yet. From the looks of it, this winter is going to be warm, but I am not going to chance it. I learned my lesson with my 03! If you have a beater, use it. And it keeps the miles low, as NickRaine78 mentioned.

This stuff is amazing. I've had success with it for years!

Fill your tank. the fuel will be just fine.

If teh tank is not full, it will be subject to water contamination from condensation.

Okay will someone please clarify whether to start your car every 1-2 weeks or just not start it until next year? I'm reading mixed opinions, what's the best way?

I washed/waxed my car
Changed oil with mobile1 synthetic
Put a car cover on her
Put the front end on jackstands cuz one of the tires are leaking air

I keep telling myself I'll store it over winter, but on days with clear roads I strill take it out 1X every 1-1.5 months to play I keep the battery connected, on a trickle and start it when I take it out. I could never 100% put it in storage!

not in this order but here's what I do:
wash
cover
crack windows
leave box of baking soda in car
disconnect battery (use a trickle charger)
park the tires on carpet squares.... don't put it on jack stands
change oil (also change oil when you take it out of storage)
fill tank (no stabil needed)
put towels under the windshield wipers so they don't stick to the windshield
over inflate tires to about 40psi
don't use the parking brake
Do Not start the car.... starting it every couple weeks it will only create excess condensation and cause excess wear due to starting it with minimal oil in the engine (it will mostly have drained to the oil pan within a couple weeks)

I think that is it..... good luck

I live in IN and sometimes we get some real snow but for the most part I just can't stand not getting to drive the car. With the right tires, it doesn't do terribly in the snow and I still drive it at least once a week if not a few times a week. Any storage can't be great (except for keeping miles off). So, I say drive the thing and actually warm it up every few weeks. If you do have to store it though, listen to these other guys because I never store mine, .

I put mine away thanksgiving day, and it only took my dad 3 days to hit it with his truck door and dent it....needless to say i was very pissed. Luckily i should be able to get the dent out since i have a cousin that works at a collision shop, i'm hopeful at least. Oh and when i was waxing i noticed a small dent in front of my rear wheel well with a chip in the paint, musta been a pretty good sized rock thrown from my front tire or a car next to me or something, that sucked too.
I changed the oil, filled the gas tank and put in STA-BIL, washed/waxed, covered it, and put it up on blocks in the rear and jack stands in the front, but with the independent rear suspension how it is it sorta took away half the reason for doing it in the rear since the blocks are under the suspension, so the weight of the car is still on it, oh well, won't have to worry about flat spots on the tires at least. I didn't think about cracking the windows though, i'll have to do that, and i still need to disconnect the battery and put it on a battery tender.

where are you guys gettin this "full tank befor eyou store" idea.

Dont fill your tank and let it sit for another 4 months. You'll just form water in the tank and lines and the lines will start to freeze up. Besides, why fill up when you wont drive. Take it all out so the gas wont go bad.

Disconnect battery like everyone else said.

Theres no need for an oil change before you store but what would be a good idea is to drain the oil and leave an oil pan bucket under your cars oil pan for 24hrs till the oil is all drained. reason for this is so it doesnt slug up.

but the main thing is, make sure you give it a good wash so next time you take it out, itll look goooooooooood!!!!!!.

I've got the Z at a little under 1/4 tank of gas. I start it every 1.5-2 weeks. I'm waiting to change the oil until spring. Is this bad?

I'm only putting the Z away for maybe 2 months, (thankgod for west coast weather, but going to school on a mountain FTL), but most likely just going to inflate tires to 40ish PSI, stick 'er in the garage and wait it out.
