I would wait. Getting a Z at this time and then in 2 years a new model coming out would bum me out.

Maybe lease a 08 Z for a bit?

I have a feeling the leg room won't change. I would expect they'll shorten the longitudinal frame rails of the G37 slightly but keep the front frame components so that they'll have the same engine, transmission, engine mounting points, seat position, etc. I'd think the main difference is they'll lose a couple inches behind the driver's seat where the back seat is in the G37.

Here's a sketch I posted on another thread of what I'm guessing we'll see:

I went to check on some service for the Z today and my salesman asked if I was ready to get my next Z. I laughed and said not til the next generation comes out. He said the 370Z with minor facelift should be out in 6-8 months. Lower weight and 340 OEM hp would be niceeeee! I figure I will get the present cars paid off completely and trade/sale the coupe and buy the next gen in its 2nd or 3rd year.

Just get an 08 Z now, and then trade in for the next Z. There's a lot of people that buy a new car and keep trading in every 2 years.

I was going to buy an 07 or 08 brand new so it would cost a little under 30,000 dollars. Will the 370z pricing be similar from what youve heard? I cant wait for the 2010 370z I would get the first year 09 370z without a doubt, waitin another long year would be bad enough.

If its still relativly close to 30,000 dollars maybe my v6 stang can hold up another year. Worth the wait? Anything wrong with buying the first year 370?
Your going to be waiting a while, because the 3.7 won't be here tilll 2011 model year. Not 2009. It was pushed back due to the GT-R introduction and this is per the original creator of the 350z.

I think the 3.7 will but the new chassis won't. I'm curious to see (obv. they won't announce it until later next year if it does) because the shop manager at the dealer I bought my car from etc. told me that their Nissan factory rep confirmed the 09 engine change in the Z33 platform as well. It would make sense. Give the G37 a while alone, then give the engine to the 350z -> 370z without really costing Nissan much more, plus it allows the Z to keep selling without a large expenditure of R&D.

Think I'll wait for the 500Z due in 2020; until then I'll just stick with my skateboard.

Remember, the 350/370/etc...is not part of the name of the car anymore. Nissan lists the model as "Z".

all about opportunity cost....you're giving up the enjoyment driving a Z now for maybe a redesigned z in about 2ish years...

get it now if you can afford it, put a decent down payment down and you'll be gtg when the redesigned one comes out

Please, the automatic trunk horse is coming in 2013.5. It will be the upgrade from the automatic trunk monkey of 2013.

Man, I don't know which one to buy.

Sorry to hear that. I had an early build 2004 RX-8 and had zero issues. Drove it 4 years and put 33,000 miles on it.

I don't care what they do, I just want it with a TT. The public would go nuts trying to get it if its TT.

If they put a TT on it I'll buy it even if its 10K more. Its worth it.

Believe it or not, but BMW is comming out with a good competitor to the Z. The 125i. And its a 3L TT! Starting out with a TT, its highly adaptable to mods. There are already reflashes for it that are good for 400HP!

The BMW 125i going to be a pretty bad *** track car and the price will start at about ~$36K.

I really want to see Nissan beat BMW out on this.

I'll probably end up getting a 370 whenever it comes. And if there is in fact an overhauled new Z in the next few years...I'll trade it and get that too!

I think I'll be keeping the 350z for a long time though, I love it too much to get rid of it. "My other car is another Z"
