Default Quick LSD/base model question

hey guys.. well i was wondering because tomorrow i'm about to pickup a 05 350z with 8k miles on it.. clean car fax, prior lease.. so i hope it wasn't abused. its a base model so it doesn't come with LSD correct? well i was wondering on how hard is it to add lsd? can i just buy the pumkin and simply do a install? heres the car

http://autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/deta...1wO21vPTM1MFo-

well yea... what should i worry about? i'm a long time nissan fan.. i use to own a 93 nx2000 with a sr20 that would run forever, and now a 02 sentra spec v which i'm trading in for the z.. i heard that the vq motor is one of the best v6 ever made and i hope i wont be dissapointed.. i'm looking forward to your comments.. thanks in advance

.. you be the judge of how difficult it is.

You buy a Quaife, it's basically a drop in for the base models. Keyword basicly. I never had a chance to do or see one put in. This is going to be my first mod for the new year. I can't believe I've waited so long. Very well needed mod. Live and learn.

If your worried and are going to spend that amount of money. Pay someone to install for a peace of mind.

its easier to just get a whole sealed pumpkin and just switch them out, just bolts...

Actually, the Quaife IS a drop-in (for Base-model). About $1400. If you get the Quaife, let us/me know how the install went.

It doesn't always work that way.

For the non-Base Z (that have the VLSD) you have to change some parts, if you wanted to swap for the Quaife. But for the Base-model, the Quaife just drops-in. Note: I'm just reporting my research. I actually emailed the factory in England. Note2: Having said that, even a drop-in/bolt-on part requires skill/experience, especially with a critical part like the differential. Dealer: If your window-motors failed, I'm pretty sure dealer wouldn't notice LSD when fixing windows. But if your tranny failed, or you get rear-axle clicking??? And then they would certainly TRY to void the warranty, if they found the LSD (arguing that it was installed wrong, and caused the problem).
