Ill tell you my side..I got rid of my Z last year due to the "grass is greener" mentality, and bought something different. Though it wasnt a vette, and thank God because i checked on the insurance for an 05-08 C6 because i was thinking about one The insurance rep didnt even ask for lube first.. (and im 35 with NO tickets) and totally wish i would have just kept it. I had a great 04.5 performance and had NO issues with it. If you upgrade get another Z...

Good luck

Spending the difference in price to buy a Vette wouldn't be worth it because you can make the Z blow it away for the same price.

I would get a Nismo Z instead of a non-z06 vette. You will definately feel a bump in performance and it looks way more exotic.

It's simple, really. I'll give you an example. Sure, you can pick up a C6 for under 38k, but you can also pick up a Z for 26k. Step two, just add boost! If you've got 10k to spend on, for example, a supercharger and some positive updates to the internals, you can exceed the C6's 400 HP without problems. And, you didn't spend 38k, you spent 36k, if not less. The C6 has 400 HP, not 400 WHP. Now, the C6 Z06, on the other hand, is a different story. Oh, and it's Fairly Z.

A vette is a vette. Just because you upgrade a Z, dosn't mean you'll get the same experience as you get in the vette.
Test drive a Vette. If you like it more than your Z, GET IT!
DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYONE BUT YOURSELF!!!!
Driving is about spirit and experience. If that car makes you smile at every corner, and you dab at the throttle at every chance you have, who realy cares whether its faster than a Lambergatti Sexarosa (its from the simpsons)?
for 30k, you can get two and a half Suzuki Hybusa's. Or if you want turning, 3suzuki GSX-R600.

Corvette is great. I would say sell sell sell but I think you will get more money if sold in the summer. NY winters aren't as bad anymore. There's less than 10 days a year where I need to drive my other car due to freezing rain or snow.

To the OP... it's your decision. Just make sure you won't regret one way or the other.

Vette are awesome cars. You can always build up a Z to out-perform the Vette, but the reliability wouldn't be there. I'm performance, but not into high-performance. I DD my car so reliability is more important than boosting it and having to fix it every other week.

Get a Z06... Modifying the Z will make it less reliable and can lower the resale value. But if its worth all the extra $ to you to be unique, then by all means mod your Z...

I hear you but the vette is an up grade it is a 400 bhp+ car, I'm sure your Z has over 400 hp but Vettes come standard with 400, actually the 07's have 430 now.

It's your decision, I just know that Z's are great cars, I love them.
