Those of you that have difficulty shifting between 5th and 6th
Hi all, ever since the dealer took down my tranny at 800 miles to repair the oil leak, my 5th and 6th gears felt difficult to shift. Especially when compared to shifting between 1-2 or 3-4, shifting between 5-6 was difficult. I suspected the dealer had overtigttened or didn't adjust something properly... I wasn't sure though if it was all in my head...
Today, I was looking at the Q-shifter website
http://www.rallitec.com/Q-Shifter/
and I saw their installation instruction I took a look and saw that the Z has some kind of little pin that prevents us from accidentaly shifting from 5th to reverse... Anyways, the triangle that this little pin touches is adjustable and has oval screw holes...
I adjusted it according to the instructions and VOILA, it's as good as when I picked up the car. 5th and 6th shift with as little effort as 1-2 or 3-4...
Just an FYI for those of you who might be having the same problem, it takes about 15 minutes to do it, well worth the adjustment.
P.S. this is done without getting under the car, if all the gears feel diffcult to shift, its probably because the dealer overtigtened the large rod bolt, all you have to do is loosen it a little in that case...
