thats why i wonder how much a clutch could cost if i burn it.
I did the same exact thing. 3 days before I bought the Z i drove stick for the first time in a friends civic. and I didnt test drive the car...since i was just learning didnt want to f**k up with the salesman with me! lol. but I was in your shoes. It was easy to learn. and if you are worried about the clutch (my dealer had it... maybe yours will), i added a mechanical warranty that the dealer would replace my clutch for up to 4 years!!!!

I bought my Z with no test drive. Although I test drove the '03 when it came out and loved it. So I just went at closing time and drove the '07 off the lot with no test drive since I knew it was better than the old model. No regrets.

I just got my Z two weeks ago without ever actually driving one and have never been happier. I had been in one but never actually driven one myself. So yeah, I'm also learning manual on the Z and I've picked it up pretty quick, it's not bad at all.

I had never driven 350Z. I made a phone/email deal with a dealership 3 hours from me for new Enthusiast. They drove it up, and I gave them a check.

No problem.

I test drove my Z before purchasing it... Who wouldn't. I'd like to know how the car is going to be before I buy it and learn that I don't like it.

Stop making repetitive threads.

My friend bought his G35 the same way.

I did. I actually never even saw one up close standing still either. I found mine at a dealer on the net, called them up, put a deposit on it, rented a car and drove 5hrs to pick it up plated and ready to go.

Buy a Honda, fry that one's transmission, and then start driving the Z. Under no circumstances do you ever learn to drive a manual in a car like a 350Z. You do that to a Honda or a Geo Metro.

And trust me, it's not just the clutch you need to worry about. It's also the transmission internals. So if you want to risk needing a completely new transmission, go ahead and learn on your 350Z. It'll only cost you five thousand dollars.

When you fry your first trans, give me a call. I'll give you $150 bucks for the old one.

*EDIT* Back to topic, I test drove 6 350Zs before buying mine.

I did. Bought a manual PPW 07 350z base. Had my parents and cousins test drive it. THey drove it home. And I learned on that within a day.
