Im buying the Z without a test drive?
im crazy dawg! woof woof!
for real tho.
and i dont know how to drive stick very well, drove my friends truck a little. so im going to be basically "learning" on the Z.
thats why i wonder how much a clutch could cost if i burn it.
for real tho.

I kind of did, i knew i wanted the Z so badly and when I saw one forsale at a dealership, I bought it, I at first did not want the color, but the price was awsome, so i test drove just that one and bought it,
thats not a very good way to go about it in my opinion. i would rather borrow a friends beater for a while or something and learn on that till you get pretty good...which hopefully shouldnt take too long. no point in buying a new clutch for a brand new car just weeks after buying it

I havent been through a clutch yet because mine does not have that many miles on it but i would think maybe it would cost like 500 bucks or less installed? This is my first manual car that I own, before I bought it I did know how to drive stick, ( I work on cars all day and drive them) also I had some time in my buddy's new corvette, But just dont ride the clutch and you will be ok, At first I thought the Z clutch was a little tricky because it is a high engagment clutch but I got used to it, plus when I bought my car It did not have alot of miles on it so the clutch was still pretty new.

high engagment on the Z? that is going to be good to know lol. i need to drive the car before i put the check down tho.
can i ask:
After the initial engagement "area" on the clutch, that is when you start to let off clutch and ease on gas?
and you can tell its the engagement area because its louder right?
i only drove a truck with no tachometer for like 15 minutes before and we used sound to drive.
I'd test-driven a 2003, but never a 2005. I ordered my 2005 Ultra Yellow Track Model without ever seeing the yellow up-close, and since there were no Track Models (or even 35AE) since they were a mid-year introduction. I did wait 5 1/2 months for mine to arrive, though.
I drove 4 different cars from different years and decided I liked the 07 the best. The car I wanted was on the showroom floor and I did not drive it before I bought it. I wasn't disappointed and would do it again for a new one but never on a used car. One of the Z's was a 03 which had been modded, POORLY, and it was a complete pile. Remember, not everybody can do these mods you read about here correctly and it F's the car up in a hurry. This 03 was proof of that.
My first car was a Z as well and i learned how to drive stick on it along with 2 of my friends. After four years i still have my stock clutch with 40k miles on it without a problem. So, i think you should be ok to learn on the Z.
