Default Couple of problems with my Z

Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum but Ive had my Z for a couple months now and I really like it. Im having a few problems with it and was hoping some of you might have some insight.

Problem 1: Both rear turn signal markers shook loose. One after another. I couldnt reach my hands in to fasten both outside screws that hold them in place myself so I called the dealer. They told me the only way to get at the other screws was to remove the entire rear bumper. Is that true?

Problem 2: I recently replaced the stock stereo with a Pioneer prem deck. Now the problem I am having is whenever I hit a bump (with this ******** sports car suspension) the whole stereo loses power. WTF? I installed decks in all my cars and NEVER ran into this problem. I know Z;s have a history of being tricky when it comes to the stereo. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!

ahh i have a avic n2 and i have that problem where my stereo looses power but it has something to do with it heating up according to a few local audio shops

but it happens more when i have top down so i have come to the conclusion that the sun hits it or something at an angle and think its over heating

Thanks for the responses fella's. GREATLY appreciate it.

Wow. So if a bulb goes out in one of those markers or they come loose the only to fix/replace is remove the bumper. Thats weak.

Sometimes when I start the car the stereo wont turn on. I turn it off and back on again and it works? Then while driving Ill go to adjust the volume and the whole thing turns off. No power whatsoever. Same when IM driving and I hit a small dip or crack in the road, it will literally just turn off. I have to wait to turn the car off and back on for it to turn on again. Could I have messed something up when installin it? I crimped all the wires together and checked em twice before re-installing the dash. WTF? Its driving me crazy.

Unfortunately, you'll probably have to jerk the unit out and recheck your power connections. Just a wild guess, but something's loose.
What do you mean by "******** sports car suspension?"
It takes some time and skill, but soldering is the way to go so you never have a problem.

You don't have to remove the bumper...

lol! Always try to deny its my fault but in this case I think your right. Prolly is a lose connection. Guess I'll just pull it out and solder it all this weekend. Appreciate the tip.

"******** sports car suspension" was just me bitching about the cars semi-rough ride cuz everytime I hit a bump, the stereo powers off completely. You know like your singin along to a song and then u hit a bump radio turns off and you have to hear myself. Even if your rollin solo that **** is Bad for business. (Pisses me off to no end when it happens ) I picked up my Z when I was living out in AZ where the roads were smooth (for the most part) then recently relocated back to Cali (Palos Verdes) when I was laid off from Countrywide. The roads out here suck so its like a roller coaster ride everytime I drive.

Ok cool. I see what your sayin. To do bulbs thats an alternative, but in my case to re fasten the lights, whole bumper has to come off. That sux. Has that happend to a lot of people with Z's?

Thanks again!

Your stereo is loosing power because a wire is either lose. Or you put the ground in a weak spot that isn't distributing the power when you hit bumps. That or the ground isn't in tight enough. And when you hit bumps, the ground is disconntecting.

As for suspension. You won't find many suspensions stock better then this unless your buying a porche....

not the car's fault u wire poorly

Sure the car has never been wrecked? Asians overtighten and locktite EVERYTHING...based on all the cars I've worked on, Asian cars are the tightest put together. Makes me think the lights have been removed before, maybe by someone else? b/c this happening from the factory seems unlikely...but I've been wrong before.
