WELL GANG, here is the scoop. i am in LA till the 31st on business and thought i would drop by NNA in the city of gardena to see if they had any info on my june 6th pre-orders. as i pull in, there's a track edition lemans sunset with an older asian gentleman and his wife standing near by. wow, i was so pumped to actually see it up close. the guy was super nice and explained to me that they had just gotten back from a road trip up and down the coast in it as a tst for nissan. he helped build NNA headquarters (currently retired) and was asked to test and turn in a survey. what luck running into them at the exact time they were bringing the car back!!! i sat in it, drooled a little, popped the trunk and oogled some more. the guy hands me the keys so i can start her up and hear the engine...vvoooooommm. guess he saw the fire in my eyes and told me to drive around the parking lot( 20 feet by 20 feet .) his poor wife looked mortified as i took of by myself with all there luggage still in the car. the guy then tells me we can take it out on the street if he goes with me.....hop in buddy!!!!!!! car had 10k on it already so i figured it was broken in and so i hit the gas pretty hard in 1st, shifted to second and was hauling ***....the guy looked a bit nervous. tons of pick upand torque!!! after a quick u-turn i shifter from 3rd to 5th at around 1500 rpm, the car still had pick up...wanted to get on the freeway but did not want to wear my welcome out.......PS- he said 1500 z's landed in port today...in LA......DOUBT MINE IN AMONG THEM BUT SOME OF YOU WILL BE REQALLY HAPPY. I MAY HAVE TO WAIT (WELL WORTH IT) BUT I AM THE 1ST ON THE FORUM TO GET TO DRIVE ONE....EVEN IF ONLY FOR A MILE OR SO. SORRY TO BE SO LONG WINDED.

 

I'LL SETTLE FOR AMONG THE 1ST GLADLY. JUST HAPPENED TO BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME. GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT.

 

When you accelerated did it really pin you to your seat, does it have the rush of a Twin Turbo Z32 (if you've ever been in one)?

As always... timing is the key. However, I can't imagine the thoughts of this poor Japanese ... after having been launched or kidnapped on your joy ride. He must still be talking about you know.

It will no way "feel" as powerful as the 300Turbo. It does have a much smoother band though so it is just fast all the way to redline without that kick in the pants.
