Default Starting to mod.

Hey guys i purchased my Z like 4 months ago and is a 5speed auto, now i told myself i was not gonna start modding the car but i can't help it!! I have a 05 model touring and i just purchased the JWT popcharger. I was wondering what else can i do that would yield some extra ponies without breaking my wallet, i had an Eclipse before this car and i spent lots of cash in it to make it as no were near as fast as the Z but I also i dont want to be as loud as well.

Save up $5g over time and get a twin turbo kit or something.

pretty sure that 5g is breaking his wallet even if he has enough saved up. I also think that twin turbo would = loud since you need to open up with a larger exhaust etc.

maybe an exhaust (your choice, since you dont want loud, than maybe NIsmo? Or Tanabe)

Add test pipes for some gains but that would make it much louder
Add HFC for some gains but that will make it louder too

Add plenum spacer, wont make it louder

Look around, alot of info here

You have what we call mod bug fever. I told myself I wasn't going to do anything to my '07 either but then I caught the fever and went crazy.

Yep, I was there too. I said the same thing to myself. Now look at my sig...yeah, and I need to update it - I just bought a clear bra for the car.

To answer your question: MotorDyne 5/16 Plenum Spacer is a fantastic place to start.

Nothing like the roast air duck on the Z.

Anyways, for the yielding some ponies, I would say other than your heatsoaking popcharger, a good mellow exhaust system(start looking at the intake/exhaust section), v+plenum, and an ecu reflash from technosquare.

you really need to read this thread

https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-drivetrain/50429-new-350z-owners-read-this-before-doing-any-modifications-to-your-z.html

then search and make up your own mind on what to do.

Default I...

was of a similar thought process. Then…I thought I would start with a few bolt-ons…yeah, umm…you maybe screwed at this point. Embrace it…buy everything, tear it off and start again. Enjoy!

LOL, so was the heat soaking Pop charger a good mod to buy? Is the 5/16 spacer easy to install and how much HP would i yield if i add that and lets say some test pipes? Also anyone now which are the best or best bang for the buck?

define "good mod to buy" IMO the pop charger is the best aftermarket intake you can buy if you so choose..(minimal hp gains from any air intake and the pop is the cheapest, next to a drop in air filter) IMO add the plenum spacer...and please search the forums and make up your mind. Oh yeah and best bang for the buck does not exist in the my350z world IMO..you have to spend tons to get a little...we do not drive mustangs

The Z doesn't take to mods well. Your best bet IMO is to do suspension after the popcharger...swaybars make a world of difference.
