Default Hatch Seal

Just curious if anyone else's hatch seal looks like this....crunched up. I can't see what would be doing it unless it was done at the factory. Just got my Z (less than 300 miles on it). This is the seal exactly in the middle of the hatch where it latches. I'm sensitive to good seals after having an early model 240 and the horrors with exhaust fumes with it. Hopefully the picture post works.

Looks like they all come this way.. Mine is the same.. I have had the car for almost 8 months and have over 9400 miles and have had no problem with any fumes getting into the car..

Steve (k2we) Dobbs Ferry, NY 9451 miles since Sept 17th...

Cool. That's what I like about this forum. I really wasn't too concerned. Now if I could get rid of the annoying squeak in the rear hatch area. I've searched the forum but it doesn't appear to be the brake light and I tightened the spare tire, etc. I can hear it through the stereo.

Don't worry about exhaust. If you remove the back bumper, or even look into one side of the rear fenderwell, you'll see air vents back there to allow cabin air to pass out.

Yea mine looks exactly like that ( real mashed up )

I wonder why there isnt a seal between the hatch and bumper

like the leading seal on the hood.
