Default Please Answer this VIN question..Thanks

I just read a post that said 1500 350zs landed today in LA from some guy who drove the car at the NNA office.

It may be BS BUT you know me i love a rumour. SOOOOO

my question is- on a VIN is the last 6 digits the number of car made??? Meaning if my last few numbers are WELL below 1500 can I assume my car is in LA if this guy is right????

My car is number OOO91* < this is below 1500

Is my car in the US if this guy is right????

MAN if so then I might get lucky and get my car before the first week of sept.......THAT WOULD FREAKIN ROCK! I need to go get my loan and insurance done soon...

ALSO....WHAT IS THE HARM OF GIVING OUT OR POSTING THE ENTIRE VIN NUMBER?????????????
just curious because it would be cool to find out whos car on here was in front of mine and behind mine...hee hee

-Note to self (stop procrastinating get loan approved)-

I'm sure you know more about this than me, but if you have one of the first 1000 cars built you should get before september.

good luck

Remember some VIN serials start with a 1 then a few 0's and then the last few numbers. Who knows how they did the numbering. I very highly doubt those of us with 1's in our VIN serial have the 100,000th and above cars.

Thanks Man for your support.

but my question is my 91* does that mean my car is truly under 1000 cars built...I'm not a VIN expert

That is weird some have a 1 before the 6 numbers ??? Maybe its a "I" (eye) not a "1"

Anyone know whats the harm in telling my complete VIN and why people arent posting all of it? I didnt post all of it because others didn't

So, your car is # 900 and something. That's cool and I would think that it is at least somewhere in the Pacific.

To answer your "why not show your Vin#" question, it is answered somewhere on that thread by scafremon, "VIN soup" on top of this page. Won't be too hard for you to find the post.

No, the first of six numbers is a 1. Check out Scaf's list.

There's a whole thread about it, but putting your whole VIN up is dangerous. Someone with access at a Nissan dealer could use your VIN to make a working copy of the key to your car.

I would be very surprised that your car would be in LA. I recall you are taking delivery in TX. I would bet your car enters the country at a gulf coast port. I know mine is coming into Jacksonville, FL. Someone is throwing out the idea that ALL Z's come in thru LA and are trucked to all the dealers. It simply is not true. My Z is scheduled into the port of Jacksonville, FL on 8/19 with delivery to the dealer on or about 9/4

Hey ABYSS for your info. NYK Lines ships cars and uses roll on roll off ships. They have service from Yokohama to Houston in 15 days. The NYK Springtide is scheduled to arrive in Houston on August 15 and the Santa Barbara is scheduled to arrive on Aug 19. You might have a prize package on one of these.

Default Now that we're talking about VIN's

I'll let the cat out of the bag. Let's see, my VIN is between 140 and 142. Does this mean that mine is in LA as we speak. It certainly does. (wishful thinking) Hope it's on it's way to Chicago then Cleveland within the next 2 wks. I'm scheduled for a 9/5 delivery. Sooner is better.

I have a low 300's serial number and still not getting mine till Sept, so I think where you live is the key, not your serial number.
