Thank you - you are the first to actually offer a reasonable explanation that might actually make sense. I ordered from a small dealer in Indiana - only allocated 1 car.

ZISME, thanks for the update. How do the dealers receive the VIN information? FAX, computer inquiry, or other means? I'm assuming I'll receive mine shortly if the dealer's projected ETA for my pre-order is correct.

According to my dealer he told me that the cars are comming off the line in sets. Meaning that if you have a Chrome Silver vs Black 350Z and the Black was odered first (In Jan. 2002) it may come in later than the Chrome Silver.
Being that the Chrome Silver cars are comming off the line first. And this goes for the different setups.

I ordered my Chrome Silver Performance without the Navigation, in Jan. 2002, and he has other Chrome Silver cars that were ordered months later, yet some of the other Chrome Silver/Track/Touring cars are scheduled to come in before mine. It sucks. I am so anxoius to get my car.

Congrats. I'd be more excited about my ETA if I had the VIN as well. Without it, I have less confidence in the late August to early September time window that I was given. Especially since I'm on the east coast.

ZBarrister,

Great news about your delivery date. Drive by Montague and Zanker and let me see the Brickyard in person. My car won't be coming for a month or so after that

Like I said, friday is the day..I am so happy for you.............it has been so frustrating and disappointing waiting for that darn VIN these past few weeks.I think these next 4 weeks will be the toughest. What I am really hoping is that the car comes earlier rather than later..I think nissan owes us that and it would smooth alot of ruffled feathers for me. I cannot wait. Have you read if anyone has really received theirs yet?

Did everyone miss this offer?? Can anyone take him up on it and maybe find more out? I would but a liitle hard from Florida any locals?

OH my Gosh (politically correct) you can't imagine the explecatives that came out of my mouth when I saw your pics, incredible.

How many? did it look like it is enough for the whole country's first batch or just maybe for west coast and southwest?

It is getting so close, these last 6 months of agony (for my wife too having to listen to me) are coming to an end.

Thanks for pics.

Default Dock Photo

The dock photo was in Japan, not USA. It can take up to 2 weeks for a freighter to cross the Pacific

Plus, you can see the Schuyler F Heim draw bridge in the background.

I don't think Seedy ever said 'he' took the picture by the way.
