Default 07 at 7K: Opening up?

Maybe it's just me. My 07 just hit 7,000 on the odometer. Honestly, I had yet to be really impressed with its down low pickup, but the high rev action was good. Lately, she seems way more energetic and fun.

Did she just need a little time to open up? Or have I been driving like grandma until now?

mine's at a little over 9,000 and it seems to be a little more jumpy and ready to go from the line; maybe it's just psychological.

Very possible, when I finally got on the car after I broke it in, I never spun tires from dead stop. Not even a chirp, I remember havin fun with a friend and I just took off and he was there spinning. Now I could spin them so easily and im in an auto.

+1

When it's 45 degrees or colder outside the 07 just screams up top.

Much more so than when it's like 68 degrees...

i have almost 4,000 miles on my 07 Z car, and until about a week or so, i havent brought it over 6,000 rpms. Since then, i've brung it to redline, and the car feels kind of like it woke up from a nap :P This kind of makes me think a few hard runs is good for the z..

Well, I was breaking traction easily while the tires were still healthy and the temp was warm.

Ok, if someone can "feel" the loss of 5 or 6 horses, then you need to be a professional test driver. That is 2% of the overall power and most people wouldn't feel the difference of 20HP. I don't think anything "kicks" in at a certain wear point, and anything would be gradual.

+1 on the cold air and better engine performance.

RE050s(summer tires) will spin more when its cold outside.
