Default GroupZ meeting tonight, my thoughts

Well I finally got to see the car close up!
Just wanted to make a couple quick observations before I forget:

- Interior Quality: Constantly commented on in the press, but now that I've seen it I dont understand the fuss. It's VERY nice. I was starting to get worried about it, as I'm a bit spoiled with my Audi, but no worries now.

- Nav Door: Ok, despite my first comment about the interior quality, I have to agree - this thing is really awkward to close, and feels really flimsy. I dont know if these were production cars, but this is screaming for an aftermarket solution.

- Two-tone seats: The accessories on the Pikes Peak White were pretty slick. However after seeing the Classic Soft Trim Black/Tan seats, I think I will go with a different shop for mine. The leather seemed kinda cheap to me, the colors were sorta dulled (more like a really dark grey with a... mocha(?)... center). I'm going to go with a truly black leather and ferrari-tan centers. It also was a little loosely fitted in some places.

- Bose Audio: sounded really nice. Those that are getting it I think will be quite happy.

Anyway, I'm extremely excited now.

One interesting thing that came up - I asked the Nissan guy where the GPS antenna was for the Nav, and he pointed at the rear view mirror - I said "Oh cool it's built into the mirror?", and he said "no, the windshield", pointing at the little 'dots' that make a sort of tinted area in front of where the rearview mirror mounts. Is this right? Not a big deal, I was just suprised.

I only took a couple pics, will upload them tomorrow if the pics others upload dont supercede mine.

Cheers!

Made a few comments about that in the other thread.
Basically, my feeling on them is neutral now. I ordered them, but after seeing them in person I dont know if I will be happy with them.
I think it depends on the color - on the white at least, they really looked tacked on, not really part of the body. Maybe on my blue they will blend in more, I dont know.
If they are dealer installed I think I will have them leave them off for now, and wait until I'm really sure I want them before I get them installed.
If they're factory installed, well, I can live with them - and I like the purpose they serve. I know some people feel they are useless, especially here in SoCal, but my TT doesnt have them and I get a ugly residue of "muck" behind my tires after barely a week of driving.
