I bought a 06 GSXR it fit me the best and was comfortable. Unlike similar other 600 R models I needed somethign that would be somewhat comfortable since I daily drive it in the summer/spring time to work and what not. amazing gas mileage, so much fun.

Granted no sportbike will ever be 'comfortable' out of my 3 real chocies it was the best to fit me. All newish 600 R models will run 10's... Dont worry about the speed unless your a pro rider its not going to matter, you will never ride it to its fullest potential.

As somebody stated above after you own/ride a bike, you truely do drive slower in your Z and take it for what it is. Now days if I want to go fast I just ride the bike, and just liek to cruise in the Z. It gives you a whole new perspective... at least for me it did.

Thats funny, Im wanting to get a bike (SV650) and just cruise on it. Knowing myself I need to start on something "slow" and just enjoy the bike for cruising, the car is MUCH faster in low boost than the bike Im looking at getting. For me-time to slow down = get an SV

yup, no slouch at all. They may have no top end but they are quick down low with how low the power rating is. Torquey of the sv650 is nice.

Tell me... why is the cbr600rr the best 600 hands down... Where is your evidence to support this claim?

sounds like you needed to get a ROADSTER I miss my 2000 ZX9R Kawi but since then have moved away from all of the costs of ownership. Hope your buddies don't bail on you like mine did....5 riders became 2 then eventually I was riding solo...which was still a blast! I own a 04 Roadster and let me tell you when the top is down I feel like pulling my helmet out of the closet and ripping thru the twisties....oh but I do that in my Z minus the helmet so I am

Are you serious? I have a friend with a mod'd 06' SV, I DESTROY him from start to finish on the highway at low boost. They run 12's @ around 106mph, I trap way above that. Mayve 0-80mph or so vs me on street tires from a roll it has no chance.

... did I say it was going to destroy the Z? The SV's stock run 12's... That's decent enough to beat to basically any Z non FI. I in no way meant that it would eat your so omfg amazingly awesome Z... I was simply stating that the SV's are AWESOME bikes and are in no way slouchs like some choose to believe.

i'd say go fo the bike. not sure how much riding experience time you have, but it's best to start small. don't go out and jump on the newest, fastest bike that all the mags pick, because you will probably kill yourself. i started out on a 600 then moved to an 03 R1 2 years later. now i'm rocking my 07 R1. i love the yamahas, never had a problem with them. if you want a bunch of info on the R6 or R1 join either the www.r6-forum.com or www.r1-forum.com. both sites are loaded with info.

oh yeah, my z gets garaged in the winter so i can only really spend spring - fall with each and the bike always wins hands down when i want to go out and cruise. i also find myself putting any extra cash into the bike because it's a lot more fun for me.

in the end it's your choice, but if you do get a bike start small, learn everything you can, take an msf course and ride within your limits.

here's a pic of my 03 and also my 07

Yes, taking a MSF course and riding within your limits are some of the most important things you can do!

I'd say the bike. When i was looking around for a z, everybody would ask me if I was selling/trading the bike for a z. My response was always the same, "Hell no". There was no way I would trade the bike. Definitely do a few track days to learn the bike. Good thing my car came with pretty much every mod i want/need (besides a built motor)

First lesson, nothing is too big...The throttle rocks just as much on the 1000's as the 600's. I started on a CBR900RR, and I now have a CBR1000RR, and the one thing I can say, is that I am glad I didn't start with a 600!

I rather toss 6G's into a TT on the 350Z I would feel safer imo. I had a bike and in NJ I can tell you people dont care that your on a bike.

True, but nothing will give you that feeling like 0-190 mph in 15 secs!!!

+1

As much fun as riding a bike is. I have to agree. I had a lot of close calls over 22+ years of riding that only my actions saved my life. Cars just don't see you or expect you. Really, when was the last time you saw a bike. Think about it. Now, tomorrow even if it's raining, look around you'll see one.

The last encounter was the closest. I was on a mountain road and came around a corner and some dude in a pick up was on my side of the road hanging the edge of my side of the road.

I rode the gully for a second or two to avoid him. He just about took my front wheel with him the other way. It was about 4-6 inches away from me losing my life.

So, after 22 years of riding I figured my days were numbered at this point sold the KAWI for more than I paid for it and bought a JEEP.

I'd love to ride again ..... my heart says go for it..... my mind tells me I'll die.

If you decide to ride be extremely carefully and drive super defensive.
