I'd go for the bike. At the end of the day its difficult to match the adrenaline rush of todays sportbike (especially given the cost). A weight to power ratio of less than 3.5lbs/bhp (in a 600) is hard to describe in words.
From a saftey standpoint, yes they are riskier, but the truth is most motorcycle accidents are rider error (note that when riding a bike...YOU have to pay more attention to the other drivers and anticipate their actions). If you are a risky driver in a car, your chances of getting in an accident on a bike are much higher. BUT, if you are a responsible driver, I don't think the risk is that much higher (and I've ridden for 12+ years without one close call). What this means is I leave the crazy 150mph runs for the track and ride responsible around traffic.

I am not going to run around in life, worrying about when I am going to die. And most all new 1000's will get you to 190. I am not saying it's an everyday thing, but when you get a chance, it's a nice rush!
and for this first time buyer he would definitely get into a lot less trouble on a 600 then 1000cc. there is always the potential of being fatally injured on any bike, but the 600s are quite a bit more forgiving than the 1000s.

I rather not add to that date of when I kick the bucket. Anyone in NJ knows how bad drivers are and to add a bike to the mix is just bad. I have been on a bike but to own one is just not that great for me. I rather have a 11 or 10 sec daily driver car
A timing retard eliminator or TRE can fix that 186mph limit on a bike. It only costs about $100. Get the bike. '05 Gixxer 1K owner here & no car can touch it unless you are pushing 1000+whp. You will learn to be a better driver in a car if your own a bike as well because since you have to ride & be aware of your surroundings 100% of the time, that habit will be carried over to your driving in a car. As previously stated by others, you will drive slower in your Z if you own a bike. You will never ever get the speed rush out of your Z that you get with a sportbike. I'm not taking anything away from the Z. It's fun for what it is. There's an old saying. People drive cars because they have to, while others ride bikes because they want to.
