It is pretty embarassing when people talk about how they put the smackdown on LS1 power. I cringe whenever I see people talking about things like that. I love my Z, yeah a new vette can whoop my ***, so can a Neon SRT-4. For me it's the whole package, not the fact that a guy that has the same car as a million other people also have can beat me in a straight line.

Whoa, Jesse! Don't be to fast to give in to the SRT-4
There have been several good runs between the 350 and the SRT. Not all of them have been won by the Neon. I am among those who have pulled one off by winning in the 1/4 over the SRT-4. I have not run one on the street, but I would say my margin would be even better when on the street. Regards, Jim

It's close, but i'd have to say the Z is faster........i watched an SRT-4 run a 14 sec 1/4 mile, on slicks ......i can do 14 seconds on street tires in my Z

 

Hmm, can people hate the 350Z without being afraid of it? I think not.

 

It's not that bad...people aren't really hating on the Z. It's more Backlash from Z owners who have a superiority complex.

I imagined if someone else was dissing my car i'd find the weaknesses of their car and exploit it in debate. But with the Z there is a general respect just contempt for those who are asses.

some of those posts on the LS1.com forum are actually ok. they said they liked the Z a lot, but what really annoys them is when Z owners claim they beat LS1's by a lot...it's true that some ppl on this forum seem to think the Z is the fastest car on the planet

 

I didn't even read the messages on that site, but I certainly don't think the Z is best for its acceleration. It's the best for the price. They put a good relatively cheap and even gritty V6 in a nice-looking all-around good RWD car. I wish more car companies would do that, because it makes a car that's optimal for steet driving conditions IMO. I could have easily bought a better car for more money, or a car with a bigger engine that doesn't handle as well for the same price. But that's not going to make driving any more fun for me.

 

We all know that anyone with a Z could of bought an LS1 if we wanted to. Everyone has there preference. I have owned a C5/2 Mustang GTs and now the Z. I would much rather have the Z. There will always be something faster.

 

People on LS1.com actually like the Z. Just like me. I like it. It is a neat car.

Most of the hate posts are to the people. Not the car. People actually give you props for your car vice.

 

Ive also watch an srt run 13.7's with a dollar mod + stock tires

(dollar mod gives ya 2-4 + boost) damn boost...

 

 

Alright - anyone with a stock 350 is a moron if they think they can take a stock C5. That must be a really bad driver or they didn't know they were racin'.

 

This goes both ways. There is more LS1 hatin on 350Z.com than LS1's hatin on 350Z's. It's fine if you dont like another car, but personal insults of the people who drive the cars(mullet, redneck) goes to far I think. The majority of people on LS1.com like the new Z and respect it. You dont have to like a LS1 but you should respect what it can do.

 

Well I almost got a WS6 but the wife didn't want it so there went that...but I'm very happy with the outcome. My bro has a Firehawk and I enjoy driving that...yep the LS1 is fast and the TA's are sharp looking...just the Z is a totally differnt kind of car from a TA.

 

I'm not sure which side to take here... got one of each. I've always had vettes and have a 99 C5 Convertible now... love the car. My wife got the Z a month ago.. and love that car too! we don't intend to race each other.. they are both nice cars and fun to drive. I think the whole purpose of the original post was in reference to the magazine that talked about the Z being soooo fast. I saw that same magazine and had to chuckle when I saw that. The z is a blast to drive but I wouldn't want to be teasing a decent running C5 into a stoplight to stoplight test in her z. BUT I STILL LOVE THE CAR... JUST WISH SHE WOULD LET ME DRIVE IT MORE OFTEN. LOL

 

I've seen the guys (and gals actually) running stock SRT-4's at the strip at a 13.9-14.2 second 1/4-mile pretty regularly. Seems to be on par with the 1/4-mile times of our 350Z's. That's very respectable straight line performance for the money.
