I hang out with a lot of LS1 guys (helps that I used to have one, too) but all of them are totally cool with my car. They were even pretty excited to check it out when I first got it. That's the way it is with most LS1 guys--they're car enthusiasts in general, as am I. Hell, I got all giddy about seeing a Skyline and a Corvette last night. And the two have VERY little in common! lol

Sure they give me a hard time about quarter mile, but I can dish it right back with my handling. But it's all in fun.

The problem is that, in every car crowd, there's a few people who think that their car is far superior to anything else on the road and start throwing a fit when someone challenges their opinion. They don't seem to remember the cardinal rule: There's ALWAYS someone faster!

I've met some real jerks who drive LS1s and I know there are some real jerks who drive Zs (I just have been lucky enough not to meet one in person yet). It's the person, not the car.

 

And I'll bet every one of us has had the discussion (of which we preferred) within ourselves when we thought about purchasing. I even have a list: 350Z, STi, MCoupe, G35c, M3 .... 0-60 is fun, but as long as it's fairly fast it doesn't weigh in my decision ... it had to be pretty fast to get on the list in the first place.

Their argument is valid, their car has WAY more raw power.

we have better looks, better handling, and a more refined vehicle all around.

don't act like those cars don't have nearly a second on us in the quarter though
