Default Touring 6-speed $29800 + $600 = good deal!?!?

Hey everyone!

I need to ask you guys for your input. I need responces quickly! Ok here is the story..

I have been looking at Z's now for about 6 months. I was going to get a used CS 6-speed touring w/o navi since all of the dealers are on crack and still trying to get very close to MSRP.

So today I called about a used one but it was sold.... Then the guy TOLD me ( i did not even ask about new ones) that he would sell me a brand *NEW* CS touring 6-speed (mats, kickplates, no navi) for $600 over invoice. So I was like 29800 + 600 = 30400 right? And he was like YES!

Soooo I am going to trade in my 2002 acura rsx type-S for $18,000. I know this is abot $800 - 1,000. less than what I should get for it, but they are more than making up for that in the price of the Z. According to all of the car web sites my trade should be worth about $19,000 -$19,500. But I am happy with the over all deal. I get a tax savings of $1,035 since I'm trading used for new.

So what do you guys think? I might ask them to throw on the aero kit for cheap too! What is a good price for the aero kit?

Let me know what you think! Any suggestions to check? Like VIN # or anything?

Wish me luck! I know I will get a lot of questions about what dealership and the salesmans name. As soon as I sign the papers and have the car I will post all of the informaion for everyone as a thankyou!

Please respond!

$19500 - $18000 = $1500 +$600 = $2100 = about $800 below invoice.

Probably not a "bad" deal, but nothing to do back flips over. Go in to get you deal and bring a blue book printout and get the $19500 for your car. And print the one tat shows the highest possible price for your trade. Those numbers are grossly subject to interpretation anyway. And don't let them add a boat-load of add-on charges to the contract when you go to sign it.

Good luck.

PS. It sounds like they hooked you with the $600 over invoice, but if you look at the math like I outlined, you see just exactly how delaers try to mislead you into thinking you are getting a good deal. Do the math for yourself. The number's don't lie once you get to the bottom line. Then decide for yourself if you got the deal you wanted. "$600 over invoice" doesn't mean **** until the bottom line is filled in.

Good luck again!

19500 - 18000 = 1500 + 600 = 2100 - 1035 = 1065 over invoice.

that's not bad...but i'd imagine you would be able to get a deal better than than outside of cali. i got mine for 600 over invoice in nor cal

Did I miss a number? What is the 1035 discount for?

Oh, the tax benefit. That's not coming from the dealer, so I didn't include it. It just makes it less expensive for you to buy the car, regardless of the level the dealer puts on the table.
