Where's the Z love?
Hey all, I don't normally post here much, mainly because I don't own a 350Z myself. I own a '92 300ZX TT and mainly frequent www.twinturbo.net.
Anyway, lately there seem to have been a rash of posts on TT.net about 350Z owners snubbing them. People waving, thumbs up, flash highbeams, etc, but absolutely no response from the 350Z driver. Today there was a post about a 350Z owner talking big about his car next to a 300ZX twin turbo and asked the 300ZX owner: "What kind of car is that?".
So what's the deal?
Some examples of replies...
"Classic - another 350Z retard. Dime a dozen."
"it is sad they do not get the pedigree of the car they OWN"
"Most of the 350Z buyers are hipsters. Their buying it b/c it's the car of the moment."
"yeah, sad to say, alot of the 350 guys suck donkey *****."
"i have yet to have a 350 even nod to me "
"of all the 350 drivers I've seen so far, I have yet to meet one who's not a total *****!"
Go defend yourselves!

....for your health
I've given and received thumbs up from numerous Z owners (350 and previous models). Although I can see where first time Z owners (like myself) might be intimidated. All Z owners are like a big club- but being the new kid on the block some 350z owner may be thinking that the other Z owner will not accpet them. Of course this is not the truth and I realized this at the Z Nationals show in SoCal- It's like one big family. This is one of the great aspects of the community. Please convey to the fellow 350z owners that this may not always be a case of a 350 owner being a snob, certainly that will exist, but I think that most of the 350z owners are first time Z'ers and not yet aware of the camaraderie.

I know I always gave a wave or thumbs up when I was in my 93 MR2 to other Mister2 owners, and I wasn't sure if it would be the same sort of "brotherhood" with 350z owners but out of the 4 i've seen so far all have waved or given me a thumbs up. that includes one 300zx.

Unfortunatley, I have yet to see a 300Zx when in the 350Z. I have seen some other 350's though and they were all smiles. I used to be big into sportbikes so I def. know about waving to every passing rider/Z owner... You have family everywhere.

Hmm,
I give a thumbs up or a wave to any Z I see, and so far it has been the 300ZX owners that have been the least responsive.
Doesn't stop me from waving and making an *** of myself though.

I currently have a VW New Beetle, and I think the "waving" situation with the Z is what it's like with the NB.
A lot of people with the car (NB and Z) aren't part of the family. They just bought the new fun car. They aren't invested in caring for their vehicle, they don't care if someone else has it. Its a trophy to them. "I bought the new greatest thing!"
Another thing to think about, people buying Z's don't know about the car's past or its pedigree. To be completely honest, if it weren't for Gran Turismo 3 and this forum, I wouldn't know that the 300 was the father to the 350.
I always wave at other NB owners. In fact, I was given a peace sign from a guy in a NB yesterday, was by far the coolest "wave" I've gotten
Its sad sometimes. I've found myself almost waving at Z owners, lol. I've noticed around Nashville, more 300z's than 350z's.

When I owned my Z32TT, I gave the flash or waved to any Z I saw. After being consistantly snubbed, I just gave up. When I got my Z33, I didn't bother. If they weren't going to wave to a fellow Z32, I knew they wouldn't wave to a Z33.
I got my car the second week they were being delivered, so it took months before I saw another Z33, and I waved (like a mad man) when I saw it. They waved back. I actually started the wave again, but again got no acknowledgement from other Zs, so again I gave up. I guese its a So. Cal thing. Maybe its not cool to notice other drivers on the road (I know people drive like they're the only ones on the road).

whats with peole giving thumbs up and waving??
i never get that when im driving.
sure i get a little huddle of people around my car everytime i stop to fill up, when its parked in my driveway, at work,
but seriously i never notice ne thing u've mentioned.
actually im a part of a Z club. i've been to 2 gatherings to far, and i feel like im an outcast because i have the newer Z model and most others have the older versions. its as if they're pissed that the 350Z came out.
i dont think im going to be going to any other meetings, unless its strictly 350Z.
