SCAFREMON - New assignment!
Memorial Day picnic was a wrong assumption on my part.
It sounded logical, but I contacted someone at Nissan, and they advised me there was no picnic. They liked my theory, but advised it was wrong.
I am working on some other information, and hope to have something possibly more difinitive tomorrow or Monday. I will post what I find out.
Also, anyone who lives in So Cal, and would be willing to possibly waste a few hours hanging out near Nissan HQ to hopefully get some pictures, let me know. I think the opportunity will be someday next week, but I am trying to narrow it down.

Well, it does seem from the "god's mouth" post that the Z's are already here, so I'm starting to think we should just hang out near there on monday and hope we catch a glimpse.
Hey guys don't forget to bring a boombox so you can play the theme from Mission Impossible. And don't forget to film scafremon jumping around like Belushi in Animal House when they broke into dean wormer's office.

The image of SCAFRMON jumping around to the MI theme makes me want to bring my DV camera whether there'll be cars or not!
I can camp out near Nissan HQ around lunch, but not on Monday.
I would be more than happy to spend some time moping around the Nissan HQ...
HOWEVER.... I have the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) test coming up on June 1st, and I have to study all weekend!
Sorry! but after june 1st, I will be up for anything.

Instead of being 'spy types', peering over fences, hoping to get a glimpse of colors we have not yet seen, let's be upfront and proactive!
I propose that all of us in the So Cal area show up at Nissan HQ on Tuesday next week, at about 7:00AM. We will have plackards made up like picketters:
"Show Me the Z's"
and
"I'm not leaving till I see a Brickyard"
and
" Are you really going to put a fixed-mounted antenna over the left-rear wheel?"
(Ok. Maybe not the last idea)
We'll pace back and forth in front of the entrance gates. All the employees will see us as they arrive, and (hopefully) take pity on us. They will walk into their manager's offices, and request that the poor picketeers be allowed onto the grounds, or they will all up and quit.
I figure 2 hours max, and we will be inside: complimentary donuts and coffee to boot!
Of course, someone from Nissan is probably monitoring this site, and if they read that we are only going to be there for two hours, they may decide to wait us out.
So to trick them, we will stay for 3 hours!
If that doesn't work, we will draw straws, and one of us will be selected to be chained and locked to the entrance gate.
Are you with me? Cause if you aren't, I'm going to look quite silly out there by myself.
(Hmmm....solo.....may work!)
Nevermind.

i can't believe what that jerk is saying while he's responding to rxo. very uncalled for. i went there to see if there were any more posts to his "next week" thread, and there we go...

I can understand RxO's frustration. Even if the majority of people are thankful for the information and having fun with the riddles, one flaming message can be enough to make a person stop being helpful.
I have been re-reading RxO's posts, and some emails we have exchanged, and I think one of the messages he may be trying to get across, is that if someone would just stop by the cafeteria, they may find that there are quite a few people there who would be happy to share info on the Z. They may not talk us down to the garage for a drive in one, but they may offer other information.
Remember, this isn't Lockheed, or NASA. While I'm sure they have a 'don't give out company secrets' policy, I doubt they tell the employees "do not talk about the cars we make".
So anyone in So Cal (such as me) should try to do that. I will for sure.
But I still think my picket sign idea in another thread might be fun too

OK, after reading Scafremon's POST, I am more excited to see pictures of the picketers than my beloved Brickyard Z. The Z colors will come soon enough but this could be real entertainment!.
Seriously, get me a brickyard pic and I will be very satisfied (along with Bonz and all our other Brickyard brothers/sisters). If this was happening in my town, I'd be all over it.

I'm available to wire you bail money on Tuesday.
I was just over at zcar (yes I am ashamed to admit it) and when reading the posts over there I was reminded of an old movie. Does anyone remember "Escape From New York" with Kurt Russell as "Snake" Pliskin? That place reminds me of the "penal colony" of New York in that movie where every piece of human trash is just dumped there and made to fend for himself!
Maybe RxO is heading over here now....this was his quote on zcar.com:
"I will now go back to contemplate why I ever did this in the first place. Jeff suggested another site that does not have all this nonsense. "
