Just get a beat up car for a few hundred bucks.... I have a beater and I live in PA. Couldn't imagine what it would be like with a Z in michigan with all that snow. I hardly take mine out in the rain

I live in Florida now and have never driven a Z in the snow. But I can say that the Z handles way better in the rain than my SS Camaro could've ever dreamed. I can only imagine that it would in the snow too. I used to live in St. Louis and drove my SS Camaro around in the snow with little problems on stock radials. The Z should be a piece of cake. Just don't try to drive like you're at the drag strip...

lets all get with it that least in the 21st century cars are advanced enough to be able to handle any type of weather. .hence the VCD~TCS~ABS~AWD~and so on. .. it's up to the driver to be able to take whats given to him or her and use those features to drive the car well. .on slip ups by me i've driven the damn Z in snow. .and it's not that easy. .but you gotta learn to drive in whats offered to you at that moment. ..
it's like them fools with big SUV's. .Hummer's and land cruiser's. .on the NJ pway or rt 18 near forest area. .i always see those cars in the Bushes and off the road because the people who drive think that they are the kings and queens of the road until they realize that midgets should not buy gigantic vehicles to drive. . .if they dont know how to drive to begin with. .
SIDE PIECE~
. here in NJ. .every single Latin Women i come across in dealing in the automotive Biz has a damn Ford EXCURSION or some type of BIG SUV and they can't even see over the dash. . its like the Napoleon Syndrome
I rest my case

Those of you who live in Hot Climate States are the lucky ones in the sense that they dont have to drive in crappy weather. but are unlucky with missing out on the other 3 seasons. . ..anyone care to come shovel my snow and i'll go sun bathe in their SuNNy STate?????

Over the many times visiting my brother in NE, I've had the great displeasure of driving his '02 Mustang GT in the raw brown slush of January.

Even then the difficulty of driving a manual in snow isn't utterly and completely out of the question.

Seems like people like to hit the gas smack dab in the middle of a turn?....

PS: It kinda sucks not having a TCS on a basic Z in torrential Florida rainstorms.

I had a 1987 bmw 325 is with possi rear .no computer control NOTHING!!! i drove fine with out all the feature's in every kind of weather .but it's because thats my thing. .give a scared guy or girl any car to drive and they panic. .thats what gets them smashed up in bad situations. . .they cannot think of what to do when it's happening. ..

im in chicago, and to make a long story short, in Nov. I did give up my Z for an FX 35...for two months I had it and when it snowed two times very badly, i didnt care at all. And the winter seemed to be flying by....then thru a turn of events I gave them back the FX and got my Z back, now winter seems to be going oh so slow. lol.....BUT my advice, like so many other, get a winter beater. Heck, Im looking at my 1997 Lumina outside right now in all its rusty glory lol.

i moved to michigan about 4 months ago, people told me " over here snow alot so you better get ready!"

untill early January was fine, but its been snowing here, and i have noidea when it will stop.., people said it might stop end of march...

My Z is DD..and my family lives in TX, which is i can't get extra car like other members...

i asked my co-workers and g.f to give me a ride so many times already..
my co-workers start giving me a look that ' trade your car!!'

i don't know what should i do. this is really reallllly sucks...

And you guys know...it's pretty hard to give up on Z....
You will need GOOD snow tires from Dec. to end of April. Or get a beater if you can't stand the idea of driving it in the snow.
I see it as transportation and can't understand the cost and problems of keeping a beater running and insured when the Z does just fine in snow.
